On rural Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico roads, it rarely reads the speed limit signs. I reported numerous speed errors out of frustration - don't have that satisfaction any more so have to bounce the scroll wheel back and forth to yoyo the speed where I want it. How can it be considered...
I had the installer swear that Tesla was going to be able to coexist with the micro inverters on my non-Tesla solar system. That was April 2024. For lineman safety, the micro inverters shut off if line power dies, but the gateway switches to the truck. What happens when the micro inverters see...
Jim Buck said: "I have the PowerShare installed. What actually IS nice is that it integrates fine with pre-existing solar, whereas the solar previously de-activated when the utility power went down, which was exactly the wrong time to lose that power. The NEMA 14-50 solution might work too with...
We traveled from Austin to Denver during extreme winds a few weeks ago and it had trouble maintaining centerline, yet did fine with no wind. The last two versions have gotten progressively worse, with the latest staying on rumble strips on a Texas back road that I often travel. The previous...
For the last few releases, it's had trouble reading speed limits. This version never read the speed limits correctly and seemed to not even try. Does anyone else have this problem? Suggestions for a fix?
I had two incidents with the new release. It overshot a driveway in the country and would have put us in a ditch if I hadn't jerked the wheel. Next, it turned into a narrow road so close to a Prius that we would have clipped its front had I not jerked the wheel again. Scared the sh!t out of my...
Almost always it delays getting into a lane to exit early enough, but will change lanes if I push the turn signal button. I usually ask it to change lanes well before it thinks it should. Unfortunately, it doesn't take it as an intervention so don't know if this will get fixed.
It still has...
I got FSD while visiting relatives in Denver, then used it to drive back to Texas. Here's what I found:
It does a poor job of reading speed limit signs, mostly for high speed limits, but occasionally for going from high to slower speeds. That led to having to set the speed limits manually and a...
My service appointment to replace the wiper motor was cancelled two days before the scheduled date. Usually, a service department should know if they will have parts or not well before the actual service date. Anyone else have their wiper service date cancelled?
I just finished a PowerShare install by Smart Charge America. We have about 16kW of solar on our roof that uses microinverters to supply power to the grid, but shut off for safety reasons whenever we lose power. We don't have a backup system so that was one of my main reasons for purchasing the...
I very nearly didn't buy the Cybertruck because my solar system's AC microinverters were purported to not be compatible with the CT/Gateway. Since then I've been assured that the Cybertruck will operate as a giant Powerwall and, as such, should operate seamlessly with my solar. I bought on...
I would have preferred that Tesla created the range extender to either:
1) fit in the space under the bed or,
2) been a little more than one battery depth (for cooling, connections, and protection, etc.), but run the length of the bed so that the bed is still useful.
With Ethernet connectivity now possible between the Cybertruck and a trailer, Tesla should build their own steerable trailer with a built-in battery pack. Add drive motors to help push up hills and regen going down. With built-in solar panels, it can charge while moving. The batteries would...
"The persistence of an electric motor's torque is why our rail system uses diesel over electric. The diesel engine cannot stall like electric."
Perhaps you mistyped. Diesel is not the motive power. It only turns the generator that powers the electric motor.
Google: "Diesel Locomotives use electricity to drive forward motion despite the name 'diesel'. A large diesel engine turns a shaft that drives a generator which makes electricity. This electrical energy powers large electric motors at the wheels called 'traction motors'."

"Does tempering increase strength?
The reduction in hardness is usually accompanied by an increase in ductility, thereby decreasing the brittleness of the metal. ... Higher tempering temperatures tend to produce a greater reduction in the hardness, sacrificing some yield strength...
