That makes me very angry. As if we aren't taxed enough already!!! FFS.
I wonder if you could get around it by purchasing it in the USA and importing it yourself.
That is nearly $115,000 CAD. Add in FSD, taxes, delivery, its close to $135,000. Cyberquad for another $15k. Not gonna happen...
I just need a big battery. I don't need extra motors. Sadly, I fear the CT is slipping out of reach.
I don't mind the He-Man wiper blade. In fact, its growing on me and I think it adds to the overall aesthetic. If they made it a wimpy slender blade I'd be offended.
I definitely won't be selling shares for a CT. My modest TSLA holding is aimed long term. I will sell after Tesla has reached market saturation in their key sectors.
Imagine how dumb you'd feel (and resentful toward that CT in your driveway) if you sold early to pay for it and TSLA did...

I need to be able to drive 2 to 3 hours into remote areas in Canadian winter with no chargers nearby, then still have power to get home. 500 mile battery is the ONLY battery that makes sense for me.
I would absolutely go for a 500 mile Dual motor. I'm thinking such a vehicle would sell extremely well. I suspect with battery shortages they won't do that. Instead, they will save the big battery for the high margin top end model.
CT isn't just competing against the entire pickup truck market, but also the auto market in general. A lot of people would love to drive a pickup but don't feel it is worth it (total cost of ownership is very high for pickups). CT might actually change that. If CT can be competitive on...
My guess: they will split production so Freemont only produces the LR version with 2170s, and Austin only produces Performance version with 4680s. This for a limited period while they ramp 4680 production, then both factories will use 4680s for the Y exclusively.
Keeping in mind Tesla used the...
