Design, features, and specs are a home run. Can't help but notice they are copying Tesla at every step.
Two things they can't copy is price and production volume. These will be low volume high price just like the Hummer.
Personally I wouldn't buy an EV from anybody but Tesla due to unknown battery reliability. For example, Nissan Leaf is a total POS due to battery degradation. The vehicle must be thrown away due to dead battery after 6 years. Imagine buying a car that only lasts 6 years! Ford has a nice...
I thought the 4680 was around 280 to 300 Watt-Hours per kg? some quick math using 350 Watt hours per mile for a CT; 100 miles should be around 250-275 pounds worth of battery. Even with 5% over provisioning, the 500 mile pack shouldn't be more than about 1,500 pounds.
I would gladly trade...
I'm slightly surprised the Tesla cam didn't pick it up. I thought they use fairly high dynamic range and high sensitivity cameras for night driving. Still, its incredible the driver walked away!
Makes me wonder about the camera capabilities in general. I wonder how big the sensors are and...
Why did they use that icon for lights? should have been the 4x4 button. I enjoy the sauciness though. I like it when Elon dishes it out, and I like it when others respond. More entertaining than most of the crap on TV.
Legacy auto thinks you just need to slap a battery and electric motor into any design and boom you have a great EV. Meanwhile, Tesla is innovating on every aspect of the business and leaving everyone else in the dust. They also seem to think batteries can simply be ordered in any volume. How...
They can't even be bothered to build a physical prototype. And 30 models? Very smart because as revenue falls due to declining ICE sales, they will be spreading talent/money very thinly over those 30 models so I'm sure they'll turn out *great*.
I predict the new configurations as follows:
- Dual motor, 300 mile range = $59,000
- Quad motor, 500+ mile range = $79,000
that is all. Bye to the single and tri motor.
