I know. Iām pretty shocked at this result. As I mentioned I have used them for all my cars for quite some time. I sent an email yesterday and they havenāt even replied. Iāll just head down there tomorrow and see what they are going to do. I hope he doesnāt try to tell me again that it wonāt come...
Here is the scratch they polished out previously. They did a perfect job and I thought they knew what they were doing. I donāt know if they decided to give the job to a new kid or something but someone different did it who didnāt know what they were doing.
They got the frunk back looking good but for whatever reason really lost their brain doing the tailgate. Itās the only section that needs to be fixed which is good.
Easy to take off the PPF, yell at them and tell them to sand it right based on all the suggestions here and put the PPF back on...
They talked me into it. Honestly I didnāt want to do it since I like the raw stainless. But I didnāt want to protect against scratches since I didnāt want to get them polishing out scratches all the time or having to do an Iron-X treatment every three months. They suggested colored PPF but I...
Okay,
So how should I go about fixing this?
For sure I have to remove the PPF.
1) Wait for some Cyberbrite to arrive and follow the instructions to remove micro contaminants. Would make for a nice review š
2) Apply Citrisurf 77? Would that work?
3) Repolish as per Teslaās method. I can yell...
Many thanks! Totally makes sense. I was really hesitant to do any film but I didnt want to keep sanding out scratches. Lesson learned.
I should have just got them to iron -x it and be done with it.
Iām lazy and I trusted them. I asked them, you sure you know what you are doing? š
Also the Autobody shop polished out a scratch perfectly so I thought we were good.
This is some sort of weird thing. As you can see the marks were completely different, then they tried to polish it out and then...
Thank you! Sometimes I need some validation that Iām not being too nit picky.
itās pretty upsetting as before it wasnāt that bad! So I feel like by being picky I made it worse.
Hopefully I can get it fixed if we can figure out what it is!
It might be why they always push 3M stealth wrap as it would hide these marks. Most people probably go with a colored PPF film so they donāt see these contamination marks or smudges as they look like. I of course went for clear as I wanted to keep the stainless steel look but make it easier to...
I can for sure try it. He said that under light you canāt see the contamination but couldnāt get the marks out. So it is possible they were not cleaning it properly as you said. Iām sure they sanded uniformly, they are very good.
They did the best they could then sent it back over to the...
I thought so too. I just canāt believe he would do that but stranger things have happened. He has worked on my Gwagens, my Ferrari⦠I asked him the first time before working on the Cybertruck if he knew the Tesla method⦠that you have to do the entire panel. He probably didnāt do the actual work...
