I figure I can't be the only one having a great time imagining this behemoth of a pickup truck in as many scenarios as possible. I imagine driving it down the highway, leaving "coal rollers" behind with ease or parked in front of my mother-in-law's house and the look on her face when she sees it...
Perhaps I merely interpreted it differently when that happened.
They seemed to me to indicate initially that it would be (1 & 2) then 3 and the change was that it would become (3 & 2) then 1. Effectively, those in the parenthesis would be produced at the same time. I don't remember much of an...
"Tesla has said a dual-motor Cybertruck will follow in late 2021"
Have Tesla or Elon stated this specifically? That the Tri Motor would come first, then Dual? I haven't seen that from the source.
Maybe I'm just hopeful that they'll be the same time since the website states "late 2021" for both.
Franz hit it twice. I think the first one he pulled. The second seemed to connect like a real blow to my eyes.
Personally, I plan for it to be the ultimate weekend warrior vehicle. Lumber, lawnmowers, lumber, bags of concrete, lumber, tools, and lumber.
Purchased a set!
Very nice work. I've been considering putting my CNC to work for me instead of a mostly dormant hobby. Using it to finance a CT is a fantastic idea!
If I open up something, I'll make sure to stay away from Tesla / CT coasters, though. I hope you're cornering that market! :)
While I sometimes romanticize the idea of camping in the CT with my wife (who will never actually do it), the mid-gate is really no big deal to me, nor is the external/dynamic battery supply since we don't haul campers.
HOWEVER - I do haul a lot of random, weekend-warrior cargo in my pickup...
I at first glance read that as "Concept Badger." Oops. My mistake. ;)
I do hope they make a compelling vehicle that accelerates EV adoption, but in order to to that we need less talk and more action from Fisker.
The biggest battery concerns in cold weather, from what I've read, seem to be present *until the battery reaches peak temperature.* Meaning, while the battery is cold, your efficiency is awful but once the battery itself warms up through the octovalve magic and just plain movement of electrons...
My worst cases would all be pretty survivable, generally. Nothing like yours. Most of my concerns would be around driving 100 miles to an airport, leaving the vehicle in Sentry mode for 4-5 days, and then needing to drive home (in freezing temps half the year, but nothing like the northern US)...
If so, then I would have to think that the Cybertruck (and similarly geared EV pickups) would have to be the most driftable trucks off the production line due to the low center of gravity.
Not sure I'd do it, but holy moly would it be fun to watch!
Two years ago, maybe. I didn't justify enough shares from disposable income at the time for 6x growth to cover an entire vehicle. Looking back, I should have done a lot more, but that's likely to always be true. :)
I rarely tow, so that's far less of a concern for me. I do haul material, but...
Which is why I preordered the dual. I was looking at spending about $45k on a Tundra to replace my 10yo Tacoma as an upgrade...then I saw this presentation last year. Holy shnikeys.
Part of my strategy for down payment - and I've been doing a lot of planning - is through personal, retail...
