Oh I love this concept. Only real-world problem I would have with it is that the cover doesn't quite get out of the way enough. Part of the appeal of the CT is the cover is 100% gone when not needed/wanted.

Totally agree. I would have stood in the face of oncoming traffic for >15 seconds if it were me filming. Who needs to go to work anyway? They'll make do for 20 minutes or so. In fact, I suddenly feel quite the 24-hour illness coming on!

The best camera for the job is whichever one you have with you. :) I doubt whoever it was had a better camera on their person at the time. Most folks don't carry a point-and-shoot or DSLR, either of which might have some optical zoom. Agree heat distortion probably exacerbated the problem.

Digital zoom for the loss! (Of useful resolution) Likely the photographer was at the max range of zoom away from the truck and using their phone.

As a reservation holder in the 124k range, I fully support any reservation holders in the 1-123k range declining delivery because of this. You should be furious! Grrr! I'm furious on your behalf! *whistle*

Precisely. Tempering expectations. While I wouldn't be happy for the preorders to drop by 50% for I-support-the-mission reasons, I would LOVE to get my truck that much faster.

I was looking at the front hood. The front-most panel looks blown out white to me. I could be wrong. Image really isn't hi-res enough to make a call either way on the door handles. I suspect the aberration just under the front passenger window is more than just reflection. Could go either way...
