Interesting, FSD will not engage on my 2025 Model Y AWD with FSD 14.2.2.5 and my bike rack and bikes installed. Ill be sure to checkout you video. You're putting bikes on the rack too ... right?
In jumping around the video last night I heard mention of a hitch bike rack not affecting FSD. Is there anything out there that corroborates that statement?
All of my Tesla's with FSD would not allow FSD use when the rear camera was even partially blocked by bikes on a rack.
That is a well reasoned response to my buyers remorse story. I'll probably stay the course as long as my Model Y trade in and FSD transfer aren't impacted by a significant delay with the order. Thanks for the helpful counsel. 👍
Oh and an edit was required as my cancellation fee(s) also include...
Kind of a depressing thread. Fun for keyboard experts but for the regular informed consumer it sucks. My take is that this whole mess had a very predictable outcome. When a product is built and supply chain agreements set based upon a run rate of 250,000-500,000/units yearly and the actual...
Being a natural skeptic, I think the range and charge speed increases will be negligible. They are doing this for the reduced cost first and foremost. I'd be thrilled with increased longevity but no mention of that.
Not sure I agree with your research there Mr Luddite. If there is one thing FSD 14.2.2.4 is REALLY good at it's stopping at ALL stop signs and lights (even hand held ones) and proceeding carefully. You're right that at any point in time behind the wheel bad shit can happen due to lazy/crazy...
In watching an older Munro youtube video with the Tesla Engineering and design team (great video BTW) the most salient point made regarding Sandy's question about licensing FSD Tech was the unprecedented level of software/hardware integration in Tesla's makes the licensing of software nearly...
No but there is some confirmation out there that they started installing the dry Anode/Cathode cells in all new 2026 Cybertruck packs. One report (Ryan Shaw I think) mentioned they began producing the new 4680 dry chemistry cells in Giga Austin in December so that timing is right for production...
The Dry Cell (Anode and Cathode) is a huge change. Not so much from a performance standpoint although it should be slightly better range and charging speed.
It is the COGS drop by as much as 50% plus reduced manufacturing environmental concerns that motivated Tesla to go forward with this...
I purchased FSD on my 2025 Model Y that I traded in on my "In Production" Cybertruck with a confirmed FSD transfer to my new Cybertruck. It was the discontinuance of purchased FSD that motivated me to move on the Cybertruck order. My plan is for the Cybertruck to be my last vehicle purchase and...
Apparently all the Cybertrucks currently being built have the dry chemistry (Anode and Cathode) 4680 cells which might account for the longer wait times. The Cybertruck is the test mule for this new battery chemistry which is touted to increase energy density and will reduce manufacturing costs...
I also ordered the AWD 2/5 and got a VIN (A091372) three days later. Still shows "in production" and I'm also in CA. Seems there is some momentum in CT orders and that's a good thing. My decision to finally pull the trigger (early res holder) was prompted by several test drives and many of the...
After long ago moving away from the Cybertruck and patiently waiting for someone to build a BEV pickup that could be my daily driver and road tripper ... FSD continued to "mature". My 2025 Model Y with hitch was my answer but I have this unusual requirement for hauling our bikes (E variety)...
I ordered an AWD this week and it said 4-6 weeks. I have a VIN (this morning) and a confirmed FSD transfer from my trade in 2025 Model Y. After owning 3 Tesla's (2 Y's and an X) and the wife and two daughters driving Tesla's all with FSD, I finally made the decision to get the Cybertruck.
FSD...
