My CB was also "way behind" in VIN. No reason for it to be a reject since the only visible issue was a piece of trim that was easily put "in spec". I go with the "wow, I didn't figure the payment would be that high" theory for purchasers backing out.
Agree, stupid easy to keep clean. Formula 409 to take bugs off the front panel of the frunk, followed by glass cleaner there and also the tailgate. Done.
I had a 2 mm panel misalignment that was corrected to spec, 1 mm. OK, I'll give them 0.040" slack on a mass produced vehicle. I may have done nothing about it but this one stood out as it broke a long straight line that was at eye level.
Since this might be my last vehicle, I tried to live the moment and enjoy delivery to the max. A few days later I noticed an out of spec panel gap that the service center fixed.
I had a chance to take an X and Cybertruck down the same dirt road near a delivery cent. Longer wheelbase, bigger tires, stiffer body, more advanced air suspension makes for a much smoother and composed ride with no squeaks or rattles.
I like the X but the CT is just in another league.
I have access to a legal place to let it do it's thing. Even passengers who think they've been in performance vehicles, aren't prepared for when the Beast is unleashed.
Or just replace the casting. Don't see a need to mod or redesign anything to account for a 1 in a million use case, which really isn't a use case, just a stunt. Reinforcing one thing just moves the failure point somewhere else. Maybe that somewhere else is even more expensive to fix and would...
So no connectivity features unless WIFI is available. Bummer for road trips and all my music comes from streaming.
I would have supposed the cellular hardware would be bulletproof since it's installed in millions of vehicles.
May not be the normal cadence but I suspect that is what will happen. Just based on my belief they really want to start the March of Nines rather than settle for small improvements over a version that's already pretty good (12.3.6). OG testers of 12.4 are giving mixed reviews.
I've had my truck...
I like it. Works because of the 1 turn lock to lock steer by wire. Main issue is training the left thumb to instinctively hit the proper turn signal. Also must break the habit of glancing at the rear view mirror.
Ordered 1/12 and took delivery 6/13. Understand from talking with others, I was lucky as they ordered earlier and are still waiting for a VIN. As far as the price goes, I tallied up the value of the Foundation options for me and it just about equals the $20K premium. So no reason for me to...
Salt season, I buy a monthly unlimited pass, so the CT will get washed once or twice a week. Otherwise, it's a truck that will get driven on dirt and mud so not fussy about the outside.
I got a vin today, the 31st. I got the first notification when I opened the app to check on my other car, flipped to the ct page and the vision system accept form was there. Did that, and next thing was insurance with Cybertruck 92xx.
