Thank you. If youāll look at my numerous posts, I am saying the exact same things. The previous system of percent speed offsets with a scroll wheel to fine tune and correct errors was much better. Besides it just not working to set reasonable, safe and legal speeds, this ālet the car decide...
STABLE? REALLY?
downloaded and installed FSD v14.2.2.2 last night. all sounds great in the release notes, but except for continuing the terrible speed management introduced in the first version of FSD14, my FSD had been working pretty well before the update. This afternoon we took a 2 mile...
Although Iām very serious about my FSD, and have a heartfelt belief in wanting FSD to work at its peak. That is why I want the scroll wheel for speed back,
but looking at some stat, we must all step back a little and be amused that we are in a bit of an echo chamber here.
some sobering facts...
Glad you like it. You are not the only one and you are probably in the majority. I accept that I could hold the minority opinion, but Iām certainly not the only one. FSD14 speed management does works for me, but not nearly as well as the previous āpercent offsetā and āscroll wheel maxā...
I agree- Iām not saying remove the speed profiles- I think theyāre frustrating, annoying and imprecise now and require far too much fiddling around to go the speed I think is best, but theyāll get better over time.
I just want the option back to set a precise max speed so FSD is more usable...
I donāt think my opinion is strange at all. I want FSD but not frustration. Others can go to sleep at the wheel but in this reality and this point in time both functionally and legally I am a critically necessary driver, not a passenger
Three points
1. I do like the dream of full autonomous...
There are a lot posts requesting its return. 100% of the owners in my local Tesla friend group want it back. Seems the influencers and fanbois sing the praises of the new speed profiles, but not many actual owners do. Iām starting to think the glowing reviews are just fake news.
The profiles...
Crawl is still in off road mode. Iād like the max speed control given back to the driver for on road use, even if itās a separate speed profile called crawl. Perhaps I misunderstood the post.
These are some GREAT ideas!
1. crawl mode where driver can set speed - we effectively had it in FSD13 with the right scroll wheel- the developers took it away to make the vehicle more autonomous- really bad decision that I want reversed. (And make it so it can go really slow. You have a great...
It does look like an airfoil. Maybe the lift will exceed the drag, make the rear a bit lighter and increase range (but maybe reduce traction); with the air directed over the tonneau itās difficult to ascertain the effective angle of attack. (Just sayinā¦). It certainly looks very cool!
So itās been a month and a half on FSD14. Highway performance is good with traffic, but speed management is poor without surrounding traffic. Too fast, too slow, rarely just right. Itās frustrating and definitely a downgrade from being able to set a precise speed.
I want driver speed control...
Huh, now that you say it, I think the navigation data and algorithms could be the root of many problems.
I regularly find myself disengaging FSD or āending tripā to avoid terrible routing and foolish turns. And the speed limit data is wrong way too often, causing me to disengage way too many...
I get the same warning just about every time I start up now, whether at home or away. Also, since 14 the synthetic surroundings take maybe 15 seconds to load, so as I first back up, I do not have surroundings unless I wait a bit after putting the CT in reverse.
Never expect perfection- it was just easier and safer and less stressful to use FSD when I could set the speed. I rarely disengaged before speed profiles, now I am disengaging much more, and using FSD on neighborhood streets much less.
You have provided a summary that so many of us are experiencing. Hopefully it is just a matter of time before Tesla either wises up on their own, rescinds this decision and cans the developers that pushed it, or are forced by regulations and law suits to return max speed control to drivers. It...
The new speed profiles work pretty well on the highways. Itās the secondary roads, city and neighborhood streets that are the big problem and really need driver speed control. And having one does not preclude the other- the driver speed control was already programmed in, they do not even have...
