Cybertruck Aerodynamics / Drag Coefficient Cd analysis by computational fluid dynamics expert

My office is 143 miles from my house. I go there 2-3 times per month. When my parents were still alive I drove to their homes fairly regularly - 240 miles one way. My MME gets about 220 miles of range at the speed I drive on the highway when the weather is good. When the weather isn't good, I...

Cybertruck Aerodynamics / Drag Coefficient Cd analysis by computational fluid dynamics expert

It does to me. I probably wouldn't remove the mirrors, but I would look to put low rolling resistance all seasons on. Everyone has their priorities.

    Cybertruck Range: Losing the Story

I'm only part of the problem if having a carbon footprint is a problem. It isn't. I am disappointed we don't have a 500 mile range CT, but not surprised. If you go back a few months to one of my few and far between posts, you will see I was saying the CT will be similarly priced or more than...

    Cybertruck Range: Losing the Story

Well, I don't care at all about my "carbon footprint", whatever that is. When it comes to BEVs, if you want to use one to travel, range is critical. A big ass battery is critical, especially on a big ass truck. Telsa sets the gold standard for public charging, but is still the biggest drawback...

    Cybertruck Range: Losing the Story

Only the Air Grand Touring can do that. The other Lucid models cannot at highway speeds. And even the GT can't exceed 400 miles of range at 80 mph.

Tesla blamed drivers for failures of parts it long knew were defective

Now we have the confluence of Musk haters and BEV haters, joining together to find ways to destroy Tesla. Every negative story is suspect, IMO. The sad thing is, the story could be true but because of poor journalistic integrity, many like me suspect there is fake news in just about every...

Boat Package coming for Cybertruck! -- Will traverse at least 100m of water as a boat 🌊

Hey! Is it really happening? I am still unhappy about the range, but "car boat" would be awesome! Does it just rely on the wheels to move it? Maybe you can replace the wheel covers with paddles so you can move faster. So many mod ideas....

"Prepare for Delivery" Email Received for RN11278xxxx (Cybertruck Foundation Series Cyberbeast AWD)! 😱

IMO, if you can't afford to put at least 20% down on a vehicle, you probably shouldn't buy it. And for sure the market for $100k+ vehicles is small compared to $40k vehicles. How far down did the X go from the initial price? Can we expect a bigger drop on the CT? I don't have the answer, but I...

Heat pump, battery size, Class 2b division (light-duty pickup) classification confirmed in EPA Cybertruck documents

That can't be right. The R1T has 142 kWh usable battery capacity, and those figures would mean it has a range of 142/233 = 609 miles at 70 mph. That is impossible. The EPA range is only 410 miles. I noticed that also and might explain the results. Although I don't think the R1T has a range of...

Cybertruck Specs Comparison vs. R1T, Lightning and other pickups

I hope he brushed the rubble from the destroyed concrete pillar off the truck before he returned it.

Wiring genius: 48v power + data CAN bus

Adding a subwoofer may be very difficult, and maybe impossible for the average subwoofer fan.

Heat pump, battery size, Class 2b division (light-duty pickup) classification confirmed in EPA Cybertruck documents

To me it looks like 170 kW with 150 usable, but I am not familiar with the format of these documents.

Cybertruck battery is 4 x 200V units in series. Switch inside allows switching between parallel and series to optimally charge at 400V and 800V

That is freaking awesome and exactly the right way to design the pack. The Lucid uses a converter when the charger cannot provide 900V, which results in a very slow (like 60 kWh or less) charge speed on 400V chargers.

Cybertruck Specs Comparison vs. R1T, Lightning and other pickups

@cvalue13 - it has been confirmed that the Rivian R1T Max Pack usable capacity is 142 kWh. The Max Pack EPA range is 410 miles (which I think is BS, but that is another story). The Dual Motor Large Pack R1T has a usable capacity of 128 kWh, and 352 miles of EPA range. The Quad Motor R1T is not...

Musk says: The Cybertruck Event "will be the biggest product launch of anything by far on Earth this year.” 🙌

Is there another BEV that can go 330 miles that costs the same as the M3? Maybe you mean everybody sucks.

Confirmed: Cybertruck in Bethesda Maryland starting 11/25 (@ Westfield Montgomery Mall store)

Once you notice the BAW, you can never un-see it. It's so big, and impressive.
