To those interested, second installer had the same quote minus the supplemental work from the first quote ($1478). I accepter the second Quote. Not sure how/why the prices are identical for UWC and Heavy Load Backup. Maybe they are dictated by Qmerit or Tesla
Currently I only have an option to Accept or decline. How would I ask for a second quote? Also If I decide to not go through with it, those with the Beast did you get 4K credit+2.5K equipment credit back?
I agree it will be only on rare occasions when Ill need power backup.
So basically you forgo the whole Tesla setup, instead get a generator inlet set up and then you can use 50amp power output from the truck bed. The only real downside is plugging it in when needed and maybe wear on the inlet...
So your quote has a powerwall included or just installation and you would purchase a powerwall. I agree for a multiple day outage powerwall+powershare would be ideal. I think the longest we were out of power was about 12-14 hours
I have multiple teslas in 2021 I purchased 6-3C w/ Ground Teck 90 Cable, Aluminum Interlocked Armor, 1kV cable 60ft and ran it to the driveway. There I have a temporary RV Nema 14-50 , it cost me $300 with shipping. Looks like that cable is more expensive now $8 a foot but thats nothing in...
We usually get an outage couple times a year for maybe a couple hours. I really wanted to have powershare for those moments, but now i am not sure its worth it
I have CB beast and was waiting for poweshare.
I live in San Jose area and finally was assigned Installer company. Today I recieved their quote for a total of 8,146 dollars. I have 4,000 credit so final pay is $4,146. This looks ridiculously expensive. My panel is in the back of the house an ill...
I agree, no reason to fake or preplan a failure for clicks for him. The jumps and C4 should give enough hype to the video. Truck did well in the most real world applicable scenario which is getting your windows smashed. I saw a homeless throw a bottle at a car window once
Fun video, pretty entertaining. Glass help up well. I don't see any actual issues with the CT. Frame snapping off looks bad, but because CB accelerates very quickly, I bet the force was huge on that hitch. Ive seen CT do tractor pulls without issue
