I haven't tried the pet floor. Considerations for me included retaining access to the screen, vents, and floor level storage. You can probably fold the fabric to accomplish all of this.
Agree with the tilting in the back seat. Thats why I use the board and l foam+legs. Level is key.
Sleeping in the front seat isn't bad on the passenger side if you can stay sleeping on your back. Driver's side is too easy to activate pedals and lighting.
@CyberTrk
I put the other two legs on and use as a low table. During my last trip, I left it in place while driving. It takes almost no space.
It doesn't fit in the frunk, as I maximized the size. If you don't mind a smaller sleeping surface, a frunk size probably could be made.

I am. Quality is okay. It's slotted for the mirror. The visors hold it in place. Edge coverage could be better, but is more than acceptable. This is far preferable to trying to design my own solution.
For different types of travel, I have used a trailer, a rooftop tent, the truck bed, the front seat, and the back seat. I thought I’d share my back seat solution for those who might want to travel lean.
I know there are commercially available air mattresses which fills up the back seat and...
We dropped the trailer about 25% of the time. There were a couple of times when we blocked other chargers, but only when activity was low and would not affect others.

I have decent U/V performance, but enjoy good repeaters in my area.
Batteries will give better HF performance sice the noise floor drops when the truck is "sleeping."
Your mount approach is a good choice. There aren't enough hard points identified that I am comfortable with using a RAM ball...
I added a well grounded cross members to mount antennas to my rack. I Duplex in the radio side and on the antenna side so that only one feed transitions from inside to outside.
Power is a normal bench supply secured with the body of the radio within the added center console. I have holes...
Thanks for this. I have an FT857. On U/V it is fine. For HF (40M stick) I also have the high noise floor. Unless I move to battery, I think I am stuck with it.
I had the same problem with regard to the map gap between the street address and my physical house. I was able to add my driveway to google maps and move the pin for my home location to my building instead of just the street address.
I have one of the floor consoles and am preparing to mount my ham radio on that and store the 12V power supply inside. I use ram mounts for almost everything.
