On the app the suspension only shows on-road suspension height options. If you engage off road mode then the app will show the additional off-road suspension options but once you get below those off road heights they go away from the app.
Got my AWD 12-13. My 5th Tesla and best built one to date. Just that rattle under the steering wheel. I put a self stick foam pad between the 2 plastic pieces that slide into each other and not a single sound since then. You can see the felt Tesla puts there and my foam piece

Because the RWD doesn’t include one standard and just like any pickup truck some people want a cover for the bed. I have used soft roll up covers on many of my trucks. They work just as intended.
Just like opening the doors they want you close so you don't open them by mistake while you are a thousand miles away. For the suspension I imagine it is for safety reasons. Line of sight type of thing.
