is the tailgate removable? I have only done it a few times with my truck but I think I had a good reason.
There is a lot of moment at the tailgate hinge but small winches and cables accessories for the CT could be nice. (aftermarket?)
if you had a mobility cart or two(for the disabled) a...
Maybe tesla will have a feature where the vented seats can blow enough air to act as an air bearing for ease of getting in and out(J/K)! but if those seats can flow cold air in August then wow. Also, air cooling in the steering wheel. But yes Sirfun, it is a common practice for Arizonans to...
sucking on a plastic tube to siphon gas and then getting some gas in the mouth... yeah, helping a fellow motorist out by simply owning a V2V cable is a great thing (with no aftertaste!).
I am intrigued by the SS blanks to make a CT. Typical rolls(coils) of sheet are not too wide and it is not uncommon to see them ship by truck or train. Larger sheet width or plate? it is possible but harder to transport. I think that the CT will not be just one piece of origami but multiple...
you can't heat treat 300 series SS but it can be work hardened somewhat. 301 can be hardened to full hard. I am not sure how you will work harden annealed sheet available at your local metal supply store.

tesla is going to want other EV manufacturers in a decade or so. Tesla will be the oem for self driving (database), batteries and other components. Tesla can't please an infinite number of styling/interior desires but can achieve an 100% EV universe that is built/licensed on their tech.
considering the design of the CT a simple, rolling machine could traverse front to back and then back to front to clean a CT. Without mirrors and other protuberances three rollers would be all that is needed. Rollers like flat surfaces.
Yes,
I will be one of those AZ examples. My twist is that I will be using the CT as a retirement vehicle (in 4-6 years). I will be charging using solar PVs at home and possibly V2G etc.
It should be mentioned that AZ is only Hell during the summer but how the CT can manage cooling, keeping the...
Why do reservations at all?
Car/truck companies have new models all the time. They do marketing and build hype about new models relentlessly.
I assume that Tesla is trying to understand demand and probably more important: consumer driven features that they can design in up to the point where...
I told my Wife in June that I was still wanting to put $100 towards a CT and she was surprised I didn't do it last fall and "what are you waiting for?".
She is the smart one of the family.
during the rivian video when the truck was crawling up the rock strewn hill whenever a tire would leave the ground is would spin rapidly. There is something wrong with their programming. When there is no load on a wheel the speed of that wheel should return to the speed of the vehicle over...
True to a point. Taxes are used to pay down govt debt. Those that pay less means others still got to pay down that debt which isn't going shrink mysteriously. A better option is to offer tax credits opportunities to all tax payers...even those who can never afford a Tesla.
Perhaps a starter...
fairly soon there will be stainless steel billboards driving on our roads that will turn heads and probably terrify a few folks.
Tesla has a minimalist website, yeah it's hip but they need a back door (maybe name it after Elmer Fudd ...if they could rent the rights) to go deep into the details...
30X means it is austenitic (300 series). Sorry, you probably won't be able to stick magnets to these alloys.
301, 303, 304 , 316 can be work hardened which means when rolling it out into a sheet and forming etc. However it will anneal when welding. 303 has too much sulfur for welding but...
Simplicity is great. I hope there is some capability for voice commands as taking eyes off the road to look for stuff on a screen and then having the coordination to touch the icon in a moving, bouncing vehicle can be a challenge. I currently have right side camera in my honda and love it but...
