It backed out of parking spot in a busy lot, stopped at a stop sign in the lot and went over two speed bumps to pick me up. No problems at all.
I'm now calculating how much weight I will gain from lowering my step count!
I think main weaknesses are phantom braking at night and it will weave around sealed cracks in the road. I also had it swerve around a plastic bag blowing in the wind. For context since FSD tracking became available I use FSD 98% of time.
Overall I think it is amazing. Yesterday a jogger was...
Accelerator pedal rivet came loose I'm sure......or the new Mad Max on 14.2.2.5 is a bit too aggressive. No way this could be deplorable human behavior not linked to Tesla.
I have 38 k miles on the goodyears, use mostly fsd, all paved roads. They are almost due for a change and I have been very consistent with rotating them about every 6500 miles.
Mine started with limit to 24 amps and within about 48 hours no home charging or supercharging possible so it is in service center now. Go ahead and request service and try to get it asap.
Update, the no ac charging alert means no home charging or supercharging. Took it straight from supercharger to service center now as it would only be a matter of time before my 40% ran to zero.
Just happened to mine too. Hardly use superchargers, typically charge on 42 amps from universall wall connector at home to provide some context. Have used powershare twice. For two days it was 24 amps, then truck gave alert it wont accept an ac charge. Haven't tried ac charging, battery now 48%...
Im downloading now. Praying for reduction in phantom braking at night! V14 is Jekyll and Hyde. During the day it is great. At night tons of phantom braking especially when tree branches over the road shake in the wind.
I have a 6,000 vin range and I had the driver side mirror shaking and door vibration. This fixed worked for me about 1 month ago. So far so good. Service bulletin came out in September 2025 and was posted in the owners club.
My service center did it for free because I noticed it within 30 days...
Couple things:
1. I had a phantom braking episode at night again tonight. 1st with 14.2.1. Only thing they all have in common is parts of road where trees overhang the road.
2. As far as map issues go: if the truck consistently is missing a destination it used to get to try changing the...
So far after two nighttime brief drives I haven't had phantom braking on 14.2.1. The speed profiles of standard and hurry seem to avoid the left lane. However, mad max is much more aggressive than hurry on this build than prior. It is more agreesive by a little than prior Mad Max to IMHO...
I was driving at night last night and it phantom brakes hard in middle of the drive for no reason. No rain, no leaves, nothing. Hopefully this update gets rids of map and these phantom events.
14.2 has neutered the speed profiles compared to 14.1 for sure. I also agree the speed limit sign recognition is flawed in this edition.
Tesla is clearly trying with these speed profiles to increase autonomy by decreasing the amount of times you have to touch any controls during the drive, i.e...
When you get near to destination on right side of screen it will say "driveway" or "parking lot" etc. If you push on that it will bring up the speed profiles and parking choices in a rectangular box and you can change your choice.
I think all these experiences are main explanation for why we don't have ASS yet. Im also aware of the autopilot stack merge reasoning that folks mention as well. I tend to think main reason though is that these parking scenarios show it isn't quite ready.
