You are lucky this was not a Turo rental. Dealing with their insurance is the worst.
Good to hear the renter is owning up to everything and cooperating.
this is the exact reason I rented one off Turo. I had to see if it would fit in my garage. It was very close to not fitting. Like inches in front and behind. I honestly didn’t think the service center would let me get 3+ hours with it.
...but I doubt the trade in guys can tell me whether I am allowed to sell or not.
Depending on the market conditions in October-December (this is when the Beast delivery is due), I will either keep the AWD rented on Turo until the one year expires or just not take the Beast for now and take it...
I have about 13,000 on my AWD CT since May delivery.
I rent it out on Turo and had a reservation for it from 12/21 - 12/26.
On Friday 12/20 night after returning to the truck after 90 minutes at dinner I was greeted with -
TAS 2313: Adaptive ride control degraded. Ride comfort may be reduced...
...HELL YES!
And, irrespective of what my intentions are with this promised capability, by the number of listings in my area of cybertrucks on Turo, there are a significant number of you out there who do want to/need to have your trucks earning some income for you.
So, unless they intend...
This is almost exactly what I was going to reply with. Turo is a service for short-term rentals, not 6 months or a year, so to compare the price to Turo is a little absurd. I am sure some super rich person won't mind paying $100K for a vehicle for a year and never own it, but I have yet to meet...
Ya he’s VERY lucky the driver is willing to work with him and it wasn’t a worst outcome. If he would have hurt someone and they sued.. bye to everything this CT owner has lol
...rental agreement that covers the basic expectations. And the renter has to share their full coverage insurance information
I have it posted on Turo. And I have had 3 renters from that platform. But Turo takes 25% and adds fees so the renter is paying double the amount I am getting.
Most of...
Turo is not for 1 year or 6 months, time frame, The Turo model is meant for short term rentals, so comparison with Turo does not make sense.
You may find someone with stupid frame of mind going to spend, 100K for yearly lease.
i would never put my truck on turo, you know you will have idiots renting it and doing all sorts of stuff just to make videos .. look at TechRax for example, if its his or a willing participant who knows. it could very well be a turo rental lol
...local artist and has the ability to pay the amount needed to cover the repairs. He offered to buy the truck. I didn’t want to do that.
I rent on Turo; but this was a direct rental.
I realize my exposure but I want to believe he will honor our agreement. He was willing to sign a payment...
I did a weekend trip to LA from Las Vegas and rented a Cybertruck on Turo to try it out. Definitely the most comfortable vehicle I've ever driven! The driving position is great, feels roomy, I can stretch a bit when I need to, and steer by wire is a dream. I'm 6'2" and 230lbs so most average...
...the challenges you and some other folks are dealing with. You're right cancer sucks. There's a very nice guy in Fontana, CA that is renting his out through Turo. I made arrangements to rent his CT next month. Here's his Turo link. Tesla Cybertruck AWD 2024 rental in Fontana, CA by William D...
