  1. Canadian Prices Suck

your price in USD is wrong. It’s actually $43,690 foot long range model Y.
  2. Tesla's 700 Mile Battery Is Coming Sooner Than You Think

For myself, I need to be able to drive at least two to three hours into the middle of nowhere, then drive home, without access to a charger. And I need to be able to do that in the dead of Canadian winter. I routinely make such trips for work. Perhaps I am in the minority, but 500 mile range...
  3. Lucid Air beats Tesla Model S with insane 9.9-second quarter-mile

It’s just a prototype with tons of hype. In all likelihood the production version will be quite different, if it ever actually goes to production. To be fair CT is in the same boat, except that Tesla has a great track record and factory under construction.
  4. Factory Progress Video: Tesla Giga Texas vs Nikola Arizona

Nikola will go to zero soon. Wouldn’t be surprised if the founder went to prison for fraud.
  5. Canadian Prices Suck

Well this turned into quite the discussion... anyway, I don’t see Canadian prices improving anytime soon. Our dollar is likely to lose value as our corrupt liberal government prints the currency into oblivion. The US dollar is also being printed into oblivion, but its status as global reserve...
  6. Canadian Prices Suck

Buying a Tesla in Canada is generally only for the rich. If we compare USD vs CAD pricing, we see a multiplier of about 1.6. This is way beyond the currency exchange rate which is around 1.3. An entry level Model Y will set you back about $80,000 CAD with advanced autopilot. Single Motor...
  7. Ok if GM/Ford go under?

Any company that can’t compete should be left alone to fail. legacy auto has grown way to bureaucratic and needs to get swept away by the market.
  8. Cybertruck Vs. New Bronco

TFLs video proves my point. The X lost massive energy to torque vectoring trying to off road. We’re hoping CT does it differently. also the off-roading range is not necessarily the right way to measure it. Might make more sense to measure driving hours than range. Battery Capacity is king, and...
  9. Cybertruck Vs. New Bronco

You are speculating on range. Off road is a problem with current Teslas because of the torque vectoring which applies brakes to prevent slippage. It’s incredibly inefficient for off road. Elon said CT would have advanced off-road tech, so likely CT won’t use the same approach. yes off road...
  10. Cybertruck Vs. New Bronco

Bronco marketing looks great. But Bronco seems kind of junky compared to Cybertruck... Bronco styling is the same as everything else, nothing groundbreaking. It's exactly what you'd guess it would be: Neat off-the-shelf features in a compact SUV with 1960s design theme. I'm sure the focus...
  11. Will I need a armoured vehicle permit for Cybertruck in British Columbia?

Oh I'm sure some government jerk on a power trip will make a fuss about it at some point. But the bulletproof claim is only up to 9 mm, which is pretty tame. So any medium to large caliber pistol and basically any rifle will penetrate it. I think you can argue that it's not an armored vehicle.
  12. Full Video: Cybertruck Featured on Jay Leno's Garage

I am thoroughly impressed at the lack of deflection with Elon standing on the vault! When he originally said you’d be able to stand on it, I had visions of it flexing like crazy and only barely holding a grown man. This is impressive! It must be made of the same stainless steel! I also love...
  13. Plaid Cybertruck Is A Thing Says Musk!

Guys... I think we’re missing the obvious... The tri-motor IS the plaid version!
  14. My Plan to Net a $99 Per Month Payment on a Cybertruck

Not a bad strategy. I thought about doing the same. I need my vehicle for work but renting it out on weekends would help pay it off faster!
  15. Maybe Single motor is all you need?

With the current economic outlook, its going to make more sense to buy a cheaper CT. Also the Canadian exchange rate is going to drive the cost of tri motor FSD over $100k! That’s a tough pill to swallow. I sincerely hope Tesla offers a long range 2WD option at lower price point. or maybe...
  16. Plaid Cybertruck Is A Thing Says Musk!

It's possible Elon meant he will have a custom Plaid CT made for himself only... Tesla has a lot of projects on the go, and a Plaid Mode CT might not be high on the priority list.
  17. Maybe Single motor is all you need?

A conventional pickup truck with RWD is a piece of garbage up north when the snow falls. But CT will have much better weight distribution making it about as good as any other 2WD vehicle. I'm confident RWD would be totally fine. Still, range is king. Tri-motor for me.
  18. Robo Taxi - When?

People on the edges of this problem (guys like Lex Fridman) suggest it is way harder than those on the inside think. Elon and Jim Keller disagree and think it's just a data problem. Elon could figure it out relatively soon, but the geniuses working under him are struggling. I mean no...
  19. Maybe Single motor is all you need?

One motor would fill my needs, but 250 miles will not. 300 miles will not. tri-motor it is!
  20. Cybertruck is the best family car you can buy. Will it be your family vehicle?

We'll keep our Odyssey (wife needs a grocery getter), but now we'll have two vehicles that can carry our family of 6. The CT will be our go-to for family outings, road trips, camping, etc.
