  1. Does everyone believe FSD will be viable in the next 3 years? 5 years? 10 years?

I would call one input per hour to be "pretty much there". At the rate they are progressing, 3 years seems like a reasonable time to have it working "extremely well", and by that I mean a high percentage of typical highway trips will work without intervention. Since the vast majority of...
  2. Does everyone believe FSD will be viable in the next 3 years? 5 years? 10 years?

I think highway FSD is pretty much there now. Within 3 years I think it will work extremely well. City driving is a whole other game. Far, far more complicated. When I'm driving downtown, my head is on a swivel. When I'm on the highway, I can practically fall asleep. I don't know how you...
  3. Cybertruck FSD brain

He said "Tesla has a fully foreign owned factory in China and that is a first, probably because they are the first to not try to screw the Chinese. " I was explaining that no, it is because fully foreign-owned factories weren't allowed. It's fairly straightforward.
  4. Cybertruck spotted in Fremont plant

The only truck in the world that can get people to rubberneck like that.
  5. Cybertruck spotted in Fremont plant

I don't think it's near the production line, but rather in the large walkway near the break area. Those workers are enjoying a Teslarappacino. Probably there for fun for the workers or something.
  6. Cybertruck FSD brain

He said Tesla built the first factory. Foreign companies couldn't own car factories in China until 2018. He said something along the lines of it being because they respected Chinese culture. That's not true, it was the result of trade negotiations and electric car companies were the first to...
  7. Cybertruck FSD brain

    It was walled off.
  8. Cybertruck FSD brain

China boogieman is not irrational. They have openly stated their goals of control of 75% of the global economy by 2025. It's not conspiracy stuff. And Tesla has the first foreign-owned car factory in China because it was previously illegal. A concession for Trump easing the trade war was to...
  9. Cybertruck FSD brain

I doubt China will do much to you directly, but you don't live in Hong Kong of course.
  10. Cybertruck FSD brain

Given the choice, I would absolutely want the product made in the US. I would even pay extra for it, as I think the Chinese pursuit of economic dominance is possibly the single biggest threat to our global society. Whether Tesla should or could do it is another topic. Virtually all chips are...
  11. Cybertruck FSD brain

Good luck finding chips that aren't made in China.
  12. Is Cybertruck disposable?

Not really. You could make a one piece car out of paper that is neither reliable or serviceable. You could make a modular vehicle out of titanium that is both serviceable and reliable. They are separate things. I would agree that the stainless steal construction might be longer-lasting but...
  13. Is Cybertruck disposable?

"You can have reliability or serviceability, Pick one, You can't have both." That's one of the dumbest quotes I've ever heard.
  14. Watch the Tesla Battery Day Livestream & Post Your Reactions Here

I think almost certainly, that the powertrain in the Plaid MS and CT will be pretty much the same. Elon even called it the Plaid CT. A huge, heavy truck going 0-60 in 2.9 would need that kind of power to get there. The MS Performance is about 800hp, so that's the dual motor CT. All of the...
  15. Watch the Tesla Battery Day Livestream & Post Your Reactions Here

I wouldn't expect a massive range increase for the CT. They didn't develop this tech yesterday. It was planned all along for the CT, and that's how they achieve the 500+ mile range at the price quoted, which is phenomenal.
  16. Ford VP Disses Cybertruck, Calling Electric F-150 a "Real" Work Truck

I realize how much of a cybertruck addict I am when I saw this picture and very briefly my brain said, "wow, that's cool, imagine if they built that". Sigh.
  17. Sun visor, overhead lights, etc.?

The prototype has some real cool light bars above the doors. I hope that makes it through to production.
  18. Cybertruck vs Hummer EV

For me the Hummer is the closest other option to the CT. I loved the old Hummers in the 00's, and the new one looks awesome. It will have some advantages over the CT, especially the removable roof. But the CT checks too many boxes, the proven EV track record of Tesla, the charging...
  19. Screaming into the Cyber void

Elon said to take the red pill. But the CT only comes in one color...
