It's definitely understandable, people react in different ways.
People are grieving... LOL
I'm quite unconcerned at this point, my reservation is years away (if the reservations work anything like we think they will) and the price will likely come down.
I already overpaid for my Model Y...
Is that tent accessory using an inflatable external frame? Or are the poles some kind of pvc piping? The later seems kind of clunky, looks cool.
I love how the basecamp folds up etc. looks like it's well thought out, just $3000 is nuts for a freaking tent and mattress.
Don't get me start on...
I love this tent accessory, but the price... wow...
I can buy a really nice, HUGE, inflatable tent with bedrooms, blackout material etc. for $1000.
For nearly $3K, couldn't it come with a compressor?
I think Tesla is being ridiculous with these accessory prices...
Honestly, the Y is just an amazingly competent vehicle. You won't be disappointed.
You will eat some depreciation, that's the reality. I bought a 22 Y Performance pretty much at the peak The only thing that saved me is I got top dollar for my trade which I sold to a car buying service. But...
What Crissa said.
I'm not risking my Tesla on some uncertified shop, dealing with an EV is sufficiently different that I want to use only certified shops and hopefully Tesla themselves.
That's how I expected it to be, maybe a little tricky since I want to process through the other guy's insurance.
I'll see how it goes, I have this feeling one of the certified Tesla body shop's will be easier to deal with.
Thanks Crissa.
Quote from where though? I don't want to file a claim because that will raise my premium which is already expensive. I suppose I could see if Progressive will do a quote without me filing a claim?
I'm just finding Tesla sometimes frustrating, this is a very straight forward...
Hi All,
Have a quick question about using the Tesla body shop.
A couple of weeks ago someone rear ended my Model Y. The damage to the rear trunk hatch was minimal, but still requires repair, maybe even replacement. The guy does have insurance, same company as mine (Progressive). He's asking...
Not really, violent crime has been on the decline for decades, in fact, it's been a great mystery. One theory was the shift away from leaded gasoline, but not sure how legit that is.
What has increased significantly is our awareness of threats, even distant ones. 24 hour news cycle, being...
I'm well aware Crissa. This is something I frequently argue with whomever I engage with on the topic.
However, that doesn't win over everyone, including their mother.
There is also the fact that the place where I grew up was designed with pedestrians in mind, and was far more bike friendly...
You have to drop your kids to school lest the bad man on the news gets them.
Believe me, I think about it every morning when I'm up at the crack of dawn to get them to school.
I caught a bus from a very young age, my mother walked me to the bus stop a few times and then I was expected to do...
So far she isn't rejecting me too much, although I keep telling her I'm anticipating it. :) I seem to have some kind of pathological need to embarrass my children. 🤣
Her other dad drives an X, so she wants to be picked up and dropped off in that all the time. We went on a road trip last summer...
If there is any feature we can be sure of, it's the toy box/games. So fart mode, the horn replacement etc. will absolutely be there. It's part of Tesla's DNA.
I can confirm I have embarrassed my 12 year old daughter multiple times with fart mode while dropping her off. Also various other...
Agreed, part of the reason I bought the plug kit in addition to a spare tire is I felt I might be able to get creative with the plugs if necessary, especially when far from a repair shop. I've had many slow leaks and regular topping up a tire is something I am no stranger too. I carry multiple...
Are plugs limited to punctures in certain parts of the tire? I carry around a plug kit just in case, but I've never used it because I can usually go and get it patched.
So what if the puncture was close to the sidewall, is that still pluggable?
Yeah, I really wish they would engineer some good options for spare storage. I have an aftermarket spare for my Y (I get a lot of flats) and I would happily give up a little trunk volume to be able to store one under the rear cargo floor. Even one of those expandable spares Audi uses would be fine.
