  1. we may be closer than we think to the end of the foundation series upcharge

RN11464XXX here, just got my Foundation order email. Bought a Model Y when the price dropped last year, and the CT wait seemed forever. Very happy with the MY, so passing on FS. Will see if I still need a truck when the standard CT is offered.
  2. 2024 Cybertruck Official Specs Leaked?! 😱 - Udated With Compare/Analysis

Guessing that you'd use gas on long trips, adding charging at night or during meals if available (restaurant, campsite, hotel, home.) But you wouldn't need to stop to charge, as the engine should be able to keep the battery charged. Maybe we need a new thread: Cybertruck vs. Ramcharger...
  3. Ram 1500 REV - 350 mi (168 kWh) & 500 mi (229 kWh)

Exactly why I ordered a Cybertruck - best blend of the capabilities of minivan (6 pax, fits in garage) and full size pickup (towing, standard bed). Or wait for perfection - Cybervan.
  4. Crash Test Video Measurements For Cybertruck Dimensions

Great analysis. @elonmusk Can you help us settle this? How about some pictures with a sheet of plywood in the bed?
  5. How long are you planning to own your CYBERTRUCK (S)

Absent some external reason, I keep cars until reliability drops, typically sometimes after 200,000 miles. Will do the same here, hoping reliability is 300-500,000 miles.
  6. You want fries with that Tesla burger?

Interesting. First supercharger in Ventura, CA, is about to open. Its adjacent to a Denny's......proof of concept? https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/supercharger-ventura-ca-under-construction-jan-2023-12-v3-stalls.292177/

  8. Confirmed Cybertruck specs: 5% smaller, 6x4 bed size, 5 seats, frunk, no pass through & more... (info from Tesla employee at Investor Day)

Also some sheet goods (e.g. melamine) come oversized at 49"x97". Agree wiggle room is needed, so 50" is minimum practical bed width, and 75" length would work. And we used to call the company work trucks "six packs" because they carried "six pax" to the job. That's six adult construction...
  9. Confirmed Cybertruck specs: 5% smaller, 6x4 bed size, 5 seats, frunk, no pass through & more... (info from Tesla employee at Investor Day)

We’ve bounced between pickups, SUVs and minivans, settling on the minivan (currently Pacifica PHEV) as it’s the only one that can carry six comfortably, and when needed, sheet goods and other cargo. The CT promised 6 adults and a standard truck bed fitting in a standard garage. May need to wait...
  10. Final Cybertruck Production Version: when will we see

Yes. Tesla is admitting it. Their transparent pricing model makes it clear. The lot was also full of 2022's - must be cars that finally got their chips.
  11. Final Cybertruck Production Version: when will we see

Great discussion. One additional consideration driven home while strolling through an ICE car dealership yesterday. New cars had dealer markup of $5,000 to $50,000. That's on top of MSRP and another $3,000 in packs - clear shield, wheel locks, windshield treatment, touchscreen protector...
  12. Predicted Cybertruck Pricing

ā€œBoth Berlin and Austin factories are gigantic money furnaces right now. Okay? It’s really like a giant roaring sound, which is the sound of money on fire,ā€ Musk said in an interview with Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley...
  13. If Quad Motor Cybertruck is $89,900, are you still in?

Specs? If it comes loaded (very long range, 4WS - see JBee's list) then maybe.
  14. Elon Musk calls out the UAW for embezzling money from its workers

Don't forget the following theft: - Deducting FICA for social security benefits that the system will be unable to pay. FICA is currently collecting $1.373 trillion, soon it will have to cut benefits by 20%. That's $270 billion in theft. - Inflation, right now stealing an extra 7% per year...
  15. Dealership model vs. direct sales?

I’ve bought a dozen cars from dealers. You get to know the dance and learn how to protect yourself. I’m sure the weak get fleeced regularly. Buying a Tesla was a wake-up to how painful and unnecessary the dance is. Did the dance one more time at a legacy dealer after buying the Tesla. Makes...
  16. Gas prices

According to AAA, national average price of a gallon of regular is now $4.24. According to the above chart (using the inflation adjusted line), that's about $0.30 more than the peak during the Bush administration, $0.25 more than the peak during the Obama administration (highest in history...
  17. CyberTruck competitor Chevy Silverado EV looks pretty good

Free market competition is an amazing thing. EVs are a designer's dream, a creative playground, freed from the constraints of ICE technology. I personally can't wait for a snub-nosed platform that maximizes cabin and truck bed space - pickup and van variant. It will be like a CT only with...
