New Cybertruck crash test clip posted by Tesla (@Cybertruck) -- 12/12/23

That's an ICE version. I'm guessing the Lightning would be quite different because of the heavy battery and lower center of gravity.

Email received: Cybertruck reservation holders asked to buy something else "while you wait"?

I really wanted that ramp to be in the final version. It was my favorite feature. I'm sure it added a lot of weight to the tailgate, but I'm guessing it came down to bigger engineering challenges, like making it strong enough, yet collapsible, and the potential problem with lowering the ramp...

Email received: Cybertruck reservation holders asked to buy something else "while you wait"?

The ride quality is smooth and quiet and the acceleration is way faster than I need. Every now and then I show off the acceleration to people who've never experienced an EV and the resulting reaction is always priceless. As a ling time ICE F-150 driver, the main thing I can say about it is...

Email received: Cybertruck reservation holders asked to buy something else "while you wait"?

Unfortunately, this is an industry trend. Most cars today no longer have spare tires to keep the weight down. I had to call AAA a while back when my old Mustang had a flat. That felt strange to me because I grew up in an era where we changed our own flat tires on our own. As I get closer to...

Email received: Cybertruck reservation holders asked to buy something else "while you wait"?

Every truck I've ever owned has had a full sized spare under the bed, so my bed is always empty. I could understand if they included run-flat tires, but flats happen and in my opinion it's always better to have a spare with you all the time. I take my truck to industrial / construction areas...

It's not a private link, so everything is on the main site. Here's a few examples of things they never showed before. NOT happy with this one. Why use the bed to hold a spare?

I got the same one. Very odd, but it did give me a chance to see the final CT pages with a LOT more details than ever before.

Cybertruck delivery event ticket lottery now open! [Deadline: 11/3/23]

It's not that big of a stretch to think that getting a Golden Ticket gets you VIP treatment. In fact, Ford invited me to their launch event and they paid for everything, including the flight, hotels, food, shuttles to and from the event and they gave away well over $100 worth of gifts.

Cybertruck Crash Test Video Released by Tesla! 💥

Neither can I. The media says the video was an April Fool's Day prank, which is why it never actually crashes. I just wonder if they had a second motive, and that the ending wasn't edited. Perhaps it never actually hit the wall.

Cybertruck Crash Test Video Released by Tesla! 💥

That was exactly what I thought when I saw the video too. We never see the impact. We see it approach the wall, and we see people reacting. So, maybe they've just witnessed how well it goes from 60 to zero and stops literally inches from the wall.

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

The removed the configuration options entirely. Most likely it's because the final pricing and specs will change. This makes you wonder if they're still going to honor the prices quoted in 2019 when those who were asked for a configuration placed their reservation. Rivian got a lot of...

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

My original urgency was based on the fact that my old F-150 was in the shop and getting close to the end of the extended warranty. I normally sell my trucks before the warranty expires, so I hated the rumor that a quick decision to get a dual motor in 2019 would add nearly a year to the...

Tesla should contact customers in RESERVATION # ORDER, regardless of motor choice... right?

My original reason for posting this was that I made a dual motor reservation before Tesla announced that dual motors were potentially going to be built a year later. It bothered me that somebody who reserved a tri-motor a year later would take delivery first. I was okay with their decision to...

My F-150 Lightning Story (with videos)

Some states will continue to protect the dealer model. In NJ, Tesla was forced to stop taking orders from their showrooms in malls, so they created a "Dealership" in northern NJ that is technically responsible for taking all the orders in the state. Tesla owns the dealership, so the whole...

My F-150 Lightning Story (with videos)

There are good dealers and bad dealers for every brand. Subaru buyers are zealots for the brand, so my friend ordered his from a New Jersey dealer and had it shipped to Florida specifically because he hated the local dealer. I prefer a Ford dealer in NJ for the same reason. I go there for...

My F-150 Lightning Story (with videos)

That's why I made that video. The XLT is never covered. I got a lot of feedback when I first started posting here last year because I seemed to be in a rush for the CyberTruck to start shipping. My truck was in the shop a few weeks by then and I already made the commitment to only buy an EV...

My F-150 Lightning Story (with videos)

I had an extended warranty, so it was all on Ford's dime. Technically, Staten Island is part of NYC, but because we have more open space, this dealer is massive... there are tons of service bays and you need a golf cart to explore their inventory and parking lot, so I guess they have more...

My F-150 Lightning Story (with videos)

Most of the recent posts on F150Lightning Forum have shifted from speculation about features, range and options to people talking about things like when their order is being built, or asking other members if they share some of the same day to day quirks. Eventually this forum will do likewise...

My F-150 Lightning Story (with videos)

I was stuck roadside in an unfamiliar neighborhood. The only symptom to me was that I couldn't start it. There was no starter sound, so I assumed it was simple like the usual things like battery, starter, or Ford's famous cutoff sensor if it thinks there was a recent accident. The dealer...

My F-150 Lightning Story (with videos)

The future of EVs is Since it was covered by the Extended Warranty, I think they milked Ford by actually replacing a bunch of things on their dime before milking me on the trade. Because I put an Apple AirTag behind the seat, I know it was physically sitting in the service area for at least 2...
