I just thought of this and had to laugh, but then I realized someone will absolutely try this. How about hauling long items with the tailgate down and the ramp extended straight out the back. Going to be a 12' platform!
(I will not be trying this ?)
It drives me crazy that so many companies play on your sense of nostalgia by showing amazingly cool old trucks and then make something that looks like a modern, terrible truck. See: scout, F100, this, etc.
Do you know why they put badges all over the trucks?
it's the only way to tell them apart ?
Here are the laws from all 50 states compiled on the Jeep Reddit:
Side mirror laws
My question is, what is the legality of the rearview mirror being a screen and not a physical mirror (as the prototype had)?
Two other options for a spare could be to use the L-track to make a shelf toward the front of the bed near the cab. That would allow you to slide larger items under it.
A hitch mounted tire carrier would be a cheap option but really limits using the tailgate.
There is a chance that this will be for a third gigacasting for all the body frame above the structural battery. While it wouldnāt be a massive casting like the front and rear, it would have a lot of narrow channels that would need the 9T force.
It is a good analogy. Hip-knee-ankle-toe, all those joints add functionality that evolution has favored over the trade-offs for not having them.
For you, the trade-off isnāt worth it. For most use cases it adds significant benefits that have been listed elsewhere.
(Note I still have to extend the rear roof lip a bit to reduce the sliding vault cover overlap, and I've also tapered the top of the cover so it fits the apex width. - but you get the idea)
Would it be possible to have a 3 piece sliding cover that tuck in and stack under the overhang similar...
