Minnesota native here. Yeah solar works just fine here in the winter time. But we only get about 37 inches (3' 1") of snow a year. Jackson Hole gets about 430 inches (35' 10") of snow. I think that the only way solar would work in Jackson would be if there were built in flamethrowers to take...
After watching the video a couple of times I'm left with the following impressions:
The video would have been more informative if the testers learned how to operate their vehicles before testing.
not knowing how to charge
not doing software updates prior
Not using Baja mode...
The F150 broke...
I just received my invitation to buy today, but I don't want the Foundation series (I don't need FSD or a light-bar, so the $20,000 uncharge for foundation would be wasted on me.). But I don't want to cancel yet. For those who have already done so, how do I inform Tesla I want to wait for a...
Wouldn't it be great if instead of losing ground clearance or bed space, they could instead sacrifice the in-bed trunk for more battery space. They could even make the additional battery modular and removable so that you could save mass when you do not require the extra range.
I totally agree. I'd cough up the extra $$$$$ if it was even close to the 500 mile range that I'd made a reservation for. And my reservation already locked in the FSD at $6000. So I don't see any reason to get a "Foundation" model that isn't what I ordered.
I'm just curious whether those who have already received their trucks paid full price ($12K) for full self driving, or whether they paid the price they were quoted when they made their reservation. For myself, the main reason I made a reservation when I did was to lock in the price for FSD at...
Stainless steel grades 410, 420 and 440 – martensitic stainless steels. This type of stainless steel is magnetic primarily because it contains large quantities of ferrite in its chemical composition, which is a compound of iron and other elements.
I think it would be interesting to see if these rust spots are happening to trucks that get wrapped. Maybe someone who gets a clear wrap could comment?
I think 'keying' would cause damage to the wraps everyone is getting, rather than to the SS.
I wonder whether it would be possible to run something similar to a taser thru the SS. Should be safe as long as the wrap is intact, but try to key the vehicle thru the wrap, and ZAP!
Reading the news online, I see many articles on the same theme, that EVs won't charge in cold weather. Here is an example: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/tesla-owners-say-ev-batteries-wont-charge-as-brutally-cold-temperatures-hit-chicago/ar-AA1n7FAq?ocid=socialshare

After reading the article about tire longevity on the Rivian (https://www.thedrive.com/news/rivians-tires-are-wearing-out-in-as-little-as-6000-miles-heres-why), It has me wondering. Currently I replace my summer tires about every 5-6 years, and my winter tires about every 3-4 years. My guess...
