This incentive is so often confused! Its not about "owing" its about liability, as in taxes paid on income throughout the year by payroll deductions for most.
Best video I found that explains it correctly.
Nothing has changed in the terms of the Federal $7500 since I claimed it back in 2018...
Completely wrong! Its not about "owing" its about liability, as in taxes paid on income throughout the year by payroll deductions for most.
Best video I found that explains it correctly. Nothing has changed in the terms of the Federal $7500 since I claimed it back in 2018 besides the new income...
I can only hope/assume this is a joke, but after seeing years of crazy Model 3/Y delivery stories, extensive checklists and similarity psychotic behavior you never do know. 🤔
But really if you show up with calipers I kinda hope/expect you to get stabbed with them. 🤷🏻♂️
FSD would be like #69 ;) on my list after being a 5-year Model 3 driver. 🤷♂️
It will never drive I as want around town and I only see it as a useful driver aid on longer highway trips.
#1 Guaranteed you're WRONG! ;)
#2 I buy what want and IF you need more you have it vs. not. You do you!
#3 Don't care... I bought my 1st and now 2nd Tesla because I wanted a quick, high-tech, low maintenance vehicle I could drive hard daily and not worry about maintenance, repairs or gas. Plus...
FSD is a myth...always has been and continues to be.
Had a Model 3 (HW3) loaner just yesterday with latest FSD Beta on it...... Had about 5 deactivations in my 100 or so miles of mixed use.
Straight highway cruising is fine, on/off ramps, exits and merging is wild and inconsistent. Local roads...
The US Federal $7500 transitions to a point-of-sale incentive in 2024.
Here in NJ we are also exempt from state sales tax on BEVS with no vehicle MSRP cap. 😉
100%, not included, but doubt that would be an option just based on the past model roll-outs.
Either you take it at a discounted locked in perk (on the sticker) at delivery or pay current retail after the fact. Anything added AFTER delivery obviously can't be held against your incentive claim...
The current EV bill took effect April 18th and there have been many eligibility criteria and limits that have changed from the old incentive programs so that means little to nothing.

Of course they do...they want to sell FSD, but they make no rules as far as Federal tax incentive eligibility. They simply follow what the IRS dictates.
Do we get to subtract a random amount for Autopilot too then? Its included software already built in to the MSRP... Nope. Let alone a separate...
Wrong... Software IS physical, it's onboard at the time of delivery and not user removable (unlike a floor mat for example) and not considered a fee, care or maintenance item so it DOES counts towards the MSRP cap.
Not the first time I've claimed this EV credit and much like our local NJ...
I did select FSD at $7k initially, but later removed it upgrading my trim selection from a Dual-Motor to Tri-Motor.
I've never been an FSD fan, my use case (mostly local driving / 10-20 minute drives) just doesn't take advantage of it's usefulness and FSD will NEVER drive like I want it to...
Tesla has NEVER offered FSD/Prem. Conn. transfers and likely never will.
Many have learned their lessons the hard way and will stick with the subscription options as needed for their next Tesla's IMO.
