Not true, my phone and dash both notified me of a mosfet health check error and my max charge rate was 24 amp (while I was charging at 20 amps) when one side of the PCS went down. I do agree on the skepticism that a lower charge rate will preserve the PCS longer.

I charge almost exclusively at 240vac 20 amps and I am on my 3rd PCS. Charging at a higher amperage may make it fail faster, but slower doesn't mean it will be protected.
