It's a learned behavior, you'll get used to it. Maybe it's better, nobody is typically willing to create something truly new and innovative even though our technology has dramatically changed over the years.
I feel like all of that could likely be true, in my small town in Canada I'm sure I'll be labeled and harassed for driving it, not your typical jacked up diesel. (That I currently drive)
I definitely need the biggest battery available, living in SK where the winter is -30 for at least a few weeks of the winter. And the wide open prairies makes the wind brutal lots of the time. All while pulling 20ft enclosed trailers.
