I guess it depends on whether they plan to use existing protocols and hardware or if they want to start from scratch. Why reinvent the wheel? Why make it more expensive and difficult to grow into?

That sounds like an easy way to appear both smug and trashy. The Cybertruck is already flashy enough. I plan to keep alterations to a minimum and only where necessary for function.
