I only just noticed that the infamous Teslabjƶrn from Norway has done a banana box test with the Cybertruck that he got to drive on a temporary permit. The bed of the 150 is neatly beat, but the Cybertruck lost out in total, due to the smaller cabin space. Still a good amount. If the frunk was...
Just recently an incident was reported where steering went.
The steering went limp on the Wheelinā Diesel truck, making it tricky to remove. I realise that was quite drastic stuff, but it shows it can happen when electric systems go down.
CT does not have a physical backup system.
I know that steer by wire allows variable ratio steering. I would easily give that up for a physical connection.
(Remembering that rear wheel steer can still be done with steer by wire in that case)
This is a bit of a tired argument.
* Large jumbos are big enough that mechanical systems become really quite complex
* They are meticulously maintained and checked
* They are flown by professional pilots with extensive training
* The lack of physical feedback has played a part in at least...
The lack of physical connection is not a merit though. I would absolutely prefer a vehicle with even a backup physical shaft connecting wheels. We have already seen examples of the steering going floppy because of some fault. Iāve been too long in the technology space to trust pure computers and...
Iāve noticed the same. People were laughing about the Cybertruck wiper setup. And now the same people will say itās chic because Ferrari did it.
Uh huh.
While waiting in anticipation of the Cybertruck launch, I created a playlist of suitable cybernetic content. This could be one nice starting point but in particular I would like to highlight the first track, Jean-Michel Jarreās Calypso Part 2. Just turn up the volume and listen to those...
One thing I learnt from this was that the wading depth isnāt as large as I would have imagined. The new Defender can wade deeper.
in general Iāve been surprised that EVs donāt do better, given the lack of a need for an air intake. But the battery cooling system (often low on the car) seems to...
In a new development, the CCO and a board member of Nordic Nano, a key Donut partner, has filed a criminal claim with the police against Donut for overstating and misleading people publicly.
Donut has responded saying he is not aware of the overall situation (a bit hard to believe given his...
I wouldnāt hold my breath. I think we are quite some way from anything concrete. Especially given that relations are a bit frosty across the ocean right now.
The released AWD was 60% more expensive than the prices announced at launch. The RWD was even worse, prices being 75% higher. Though at least it got a longer range.
I think all the activity and excitement proves what several of us here have been saying: price matters. The design might be...
VTT is a respectable lab, although they will test what you ask them to test. Itās curious they have put out this release. Is the release a synchronised PR gig with Donut or them covering their backs by stating all questions should be directed to Donut? Remains to be seen.
But whatever VTT has...
The MY doesn't have the tow ability, the ground clearance or the bashability of the CT. It would still be immensely functional at a slightly smaller size, and much easier to manage and park (at least in Europe). 10cm in width and 50cm in length would make a world of difference.
Revenues are down, profits are down, market share is down, sales have fallen off a cliff in some key markets, no new models in sight. Itās hard to argue that things are unequivocally rosy.
I agree that Elon was one key component in driving Tesla to the position it had. Credit where due. Iām not...
