The talk about unsold inventory is all very interesting but mostly just fake news. Less than 800 inventory trucks, if true, is insanely low compared to where they should be for healthy (sales-maximizing) operations. Suppose Tesla produced 100 trucks per day (way less than the plan) and it took...
No way it's the whole team. But anyone who thought payment terminals on SC's was a good idea and anyone who has gotten lazy needs to go. Supercharger rollout is fast but not fast enough and magic dock/CCS is probably going to be viewed as a mistake in a year or two when all the major makers are...
IF this is the ancillary harness power loss issue reported in January, which is at least plausible because losing 48v will shut down the steering system and put the truck into not-gonna-drive-for-ya mode, the service bulletin is here...
The fact that people seriously think stainless steel panels are rusting tells me that either (1) the schools in this country are failing or (2) the modern art museums in this country are failing.
Looks like a cute little air compressor and reservoir. Easy access to the top of air suspension and rear drive unit is also awesome for longevity. Nice clean engineering!
Cybertruck is martensitic hardened stainless steel. Your sample is almost certainly not. Try a stainless steel wrench, screwdriver, or a decent quality kitchen knife and see if you can scratch it.
Meanwhile, I am thankful that I won't have to buy or haul around an extra ~200 miles worth of batteries that I don't need. That's practically enough to build another car.
I'm imagining that the internal ramp goal was 20/day by the end of last week, 50/day by the end of this week, maybe 100/day by January 5, since there are holidays thrown in the middle.
Maybe I can get mine by Christmas '24?
My heart sank when I found out about the price (I reserved dual motor in 2019). Now, a few days later, I'm warming up to the idea of spending $80k on a car. You win, Elon. :poop:
Hurry up and draw my number already!
I'm pretty impressed with how they kept the weight down. They hit the 300+ mile range target without doing an extra-thick battery pack or having the pack intrude into the usable space in some annoying way. If the 3mm stainless was part of that compromise, I don't mind giving up a little bit of...
