After replacing a plethora of parts, including all of the ones mentioned in this thread, the “critical issue” problem was addressed although I’m not sure they know the actual cause since so many things were taken apart so many times. They had a Tesla engineer involved. Upon picking the truck...
Good luck. I had the same thing happen in late August. After numerous parts replaced, they still haven’t figured out what’s wrong with it. There’s enough of us that have had the same issue now that hopefully they’ll figure out a fix. I’m seven days from it officially being a lemon. If it...
An additional complication is that I’m relocating next week so getting the truck back after I move would be a pain. The service center was actually willing to start the buyback paperwork but I told them to hold off until we learn if the next part fixes it.
Still no success. They’ve replaced a rear module and now think it might be related to the a-pillar harness so one of those has been ordered. One more week of this and it officially becomes a lemon.
Update on mine. Neither the new power conversion system nor the new harness fixed it. They’re consulting with a Tesla engineer now trying to figure out what’s wrong with it
Fewer parts also means fewer defect opportunities so EVs should be more reliable, all other things being equal. Those “other things” include sufficient engineering and testing which I suspect are lacking here given the push to get the product to market.
This is my fourth EV and second Tesla...
Will do. I can’t request a loaner until Monday when the service center opens. It’s going to be a heck of an Uber bill for them to get me there since the service center is two hours away.
This just happened to my Beast this evening. Critical Issue, pull over. Once I pulled over, it wouldn’t shift out of park. Roadside assistance sent me Uber credits to get home and it’s still waiting there for a tow. About 4,000 miles on it. Built in June (17xxx VIN).
I’ve never had a...
I had this problem a couple of weeks ago (lost cell connection). No combination of reboots, power off, etc would fix it. I finally paired the truck to my wifi hotspot (I was on a roadtrip) to see if a connection to the mothership would fix it. Fortunately there was a software update that came...
I did the same but used the blue scotch-brite pad (recommended in the service manual) as I had some rust spots on the hood. Very pleased with the result.
I have the same on my beast. Pretty sure it’s not tires because if you carefully feather the accelerator in a way that you’re neither accelerating nor regenerating the sound goes away. I have a service appointment coming up in early August and this is one of the items on the list
I ended up adding a piece of foam weatherstripping along the back edge of the metal roof structure. It forces the rubber gasket to seal tightly to the glass. So far no leaks.
I lost cellular connectivity today while driving. Have done all sorts of reboots and power cycles to no avail. Even looked at the service menu and saw this. Any ideas on how to fix?
They might’ve changed the design on newer build trucks because mine doesn’t look like that at all (or they left the foam out of mine). Mine sure leaks like there’s nothing there.
