further tracked this down and think I have an answer… when continually pulling power from the 48v line (50 watts or so) THEN attaching the dc step down device, there are no issues.
The efuse is perhaps seeing the small load (a few milliamps when the resistance builds up in the converter) and...
Yea literally have the most simple setup possible and no luck. It must be super sensitive to voltage fluctuations and thinks there is a ground fault and trips the fuse. Almost like GFCI maybe. I'm ordering yet another DC-DC converter. An isolated on from Victron. If that doesn't work I don't...
Now still any of the dc-dc step down reducers I connect trip the efuse. I have 3 different ones from 3 different brands. No loads attached. I’m guessing there is some voltage leakage back into the 48v line or something that is causing the fuse to trip. I’m no EE so anyone’s guess. Maybe an...

This did the trick, I have power again.
44.4v is the reading (about 2v lower than yesterday) but will keep eye on it.
I’ve finding nothing in the service manual about these 48v accessory ports. I am going to check again after it’s been asleep for 12-15 hours and see if I have voltage again. Then I will try a full power off and if not then I will disconnect the 48v battery.
stay tuned.
My 48v frunk lines are no longer providing any power after hooking up a 48v -> 12v step down converter. Flipping outlets and mods switch on and off and waiting a few hours still yields nothing. Didn’t put any loads other than reading voltages off multimeter. Odd as I thought these were fuses and...
Updated my existing service request for other issues and added this. At least we might get official confirmation this is expected so everyone knows going forward don’t worry about it.
Same issue this morning. Charged to 80% overnight. Now it’s progressed down to 77%. Sentry mode OFF. Charge cable is still connected. Only checked with app 2 times and each time it immediately responded.
Root Cause: Cybertruck doesn’t have a deep sleep mode?
Yesterday at the Rivian R2 reveal. A Cybertruck showed up, stole the show (for a few minutes), and got a ton of attention from everyone in line. Lots of thumbs up and pictures were taken.
