It is stronger in the sense that trying to break through the window would be more difficult than in other vehicles. So it makes sense that a thief, knowing this, would attempt to peel it back instead. This also seems to evade the alarm sensors.
The story is the CT has stronger windows than in other vehicles. Yet a thief was able to simply "peel" it back instead of breaking through it to gain access, and do so without triggering the alarm.
Looks like someone else tried to do the same as OP:
It's bonkers to me that anyone would try to haul decking boards unsecured, regardless of truck being used. No common sense.
Sold my 2019 Model 3 AWD for $28.5k a few months ago on FB Marketplace. Probably got lucky on that one, but I think it's worth pursuing a private sale. And if you don't get any good offers within a week or two then trade it in.
But if the grass to the left of me heads into open areas and property that is not your own, and you have a runaway vehicle you can't stop, you could potentially injure/kill someone else and damage someone else's property. I'd rather crash into my own house than someone else's.
My Mach-E would always overheat my iPhone 12 Pro, I could barely touch the phone it would get so hot. So I bought a TWRAPS aftermarket MagSafe charger pad which just goes over the top of it and now it charges with normal temps. Only thing I can think of is the placement of the phone on the pad...
Yea I hear that, it's definitely a risk. You really have to screen the people you deal with when going private sale. My experience wasn't bad in this case. I had a few lowball offers. Then someone came along and took my offer with no negotiation, and they were super nice people. You never know...
I'd thought about using Carmax or Carvana, but instead listed on Craigs and FB marketplace first. My Model 3 sold in about a week and got several thousand more. But I understand the convenience aspect of the trade-in.
Northern MI is beautiful country, good to know you didn't have any charging problems since chargers are sparse up there. Hope I get to visit UP sometime this year.
