based off the information of this forum, I noticed everyone's experience is different. some people get some form of notification, others don't and need to explicitly check the Tesla app. I think this is based on the your attached SC where you'll have delivery, and the Tesla rep's to be proactive...
hmmmm, got my VIN today. received a text and a Tesla app notification from the Tesla advisor.
a recap of events up to this point:

I been following JoeTegtmeyer on YouTube for gigafactory updates, more specifically production changes on the Cybertruck. According to his latest video, CT production appears to have significantly jumped this week, despite the new 4-12s schedule they have.
He appears to be a reliable resource...
(+/-) 150 days, since there's the few lucky ones that get the CB within a month of ordering, while there are others who are day 1 reservists OR live real far from Texas, like Washington.
Nice, greatly appreciate the update.
If Tesla continues at this rate, considering youāre the same SC as mine and order date, Iāll be an October delivery (unless thereās a fallout in the timeline).
Select your Cybertruck in your app > View > Registration > scroll to the bottom for "Tesla Location" (right after your registration address)
If it were the case people get bumped to the end of the line, their VIN assignment wouldn't occur days after swapping.
I am assigned the same SC as you. Going off the metrics solely off this forum, it is looking like a 3.5 month wait for us norcal folks (minus the recall delays)
When you swapped back from grey to white, how long did it take for you to get a VIN? I have swapped way more than I can count on one...
location is definitely a factor.
seen a few beast orders in San Diego around the same timeframe as me (+/- 4 days) and they either got them delivered or just recently acquired a VIN. despite the same state, no love up in norcal. observing the posts on this thread, Washington is a forgotten state.
A few conditions to consider that point:
1 - More powerful hardware requires more power. Think about a gaming laptop vs non-gaming oneā¦
2 - a product that is less than a year old versus a 7 year old one backed with live data and metrics. Tesla devs have so much data to pull from to optimize...
Every device with a battery will have a level of phantom drainage. The ālessā smarter it is (like a battery to a drill) will often drain less than a smarter device (laptops, mobile phones, WiFi cameras, etc) with all the extra processes in the background.
Try leaving your phone or laptop on...
