Grab handles for bed vault (to hoist yourself up / in) -- DIY instructions

I don’t have a milling machine so this was a labor in love… The grab handle has an embedded magnet to keep it closed when folded and can’t be reversed without modification. The other side is knurled. I searched for what appeared to be the best quality. If anyone that has a milling machine...

Grab handles for bed vault (to hoist yourself up / in) -- DIY instructions

I looked at and tried some grab handles but didn't like the readily available options so DIY'd this one to help pull myself up into the bed. It has a magnetic handle that keeps it closed when not in use. This was a DIY project using some leftover aluminum bar stock, and I'll share the...

Hansshow V2 to replace V1 (rear view mirror)

With the right pin extraction tool you could pull one of the unused pins (4, 5, or 12), cut the wire, move it to pin 8, and splice it to pin 8 wire (red & yellow power wire). For whatever reason Hansshow missed the splice on pin 8 to get the pass through but they did pass through the three...

You could always probe them to confirm. Just use two or the posi-taps and screw the needle section on the wires then connect your voltmeter. The wires wont get damaged and you will likely cut them anyway.

Run Compressor from Round Trailer Plug

I posted this a while back. You don’t need to make the DIY plug, light, USB, and outlet mini box I did. It has some led lights and enough length to reach each tire if needed at night. You can just use the 12 VDC supply linked on Amazon. Others found a small 120VAC compressor that’s linked in...

Awesome video TeslaKen. Working flawlessly for me so far. Now it is on Hansshow to get there act together. The User Interface on this V2 needs some work with a firmware update. We don’t need “month”, ”day”, and “year” displayed with the date. Would like an options for the time and date to...

Powering Accessories Struggles - Don't let this happen to you!

It’s just pulling power. I’m not sure why the power stays on after exit for a short time. Perhaps its keeping power to the back display for a short time in the event someone is still present. I posted previously that there are a few unused pins on this harness. If someone wanted they could...

Powering Accessories Struggles - Don't let this happen to you!

You don’t need any of the Hansshow harness. I didn’t take a pictures but it’s fairly straight forward. The new V2 mirror uses and 5V USB C supply. Follow that line all the way down to the harness and you will see three wires (Red, Yellow, and Black). That line has a voltage converter tied...

Update: I was able to tap into the 2nd Row Display “12 V Power” at connector X0879 located just behind the console front panel. I confirmed the voltage here is actually 16.85 VDC similar to the voltage at the cabin camera tap that the V1 rearview camera used...

I looked at digikey, mouser and others for this Rosenberger automotive fitting but no luck. And even if I found it I need to get the right coax wire and all the special crimp tools to make a nice butt splice. I have some posi-taps on the way. Those are the least destructive way without...

You can adjust the set-point for when it enters low power mode to either 20% or 10%. So you can drop this down to 10% and likely mitigate when this happens. Depending on your range anxiety level you may never experience this on a long trip. As for the 48V accessory power : That appears to go...

Powering Accessories Struggles - Don't let this happen to you!

Update: Went on my first long haul trip with this mod over the weekend. You need to know that when your SOC gets down to 20% the Cybertruck goes into Low Power Mode and shut off all the outlets. For my ride the maximum duration was about 15-20 minutes when I road the SOC down to 7% before a...

Where to cut the Hansshow harness: Follow the USB-C plug down past the small box (12V to 5V Converter) and you will see they have the wires already labeled. Three wires are loose and unbundled near the end. Cut and Tie both the ACC(yellow)and Power(red) together - twist those together and use...

Powering Accessories Struggles - Don't let this happen to you!

I’ve completed a 12V DC supply solution that works for me. I routed a 12VDC supply line to the passenger foot well for the Hansshow V2 mirror and one behind the screen for a radar detector. Works perfectly with “Enable Cabin Outlets on Entry ” selected. The power comes on when you enter the...
