Can you link any service doc to a v2 light bar? I have not seen anything like this. The updated service bulletin specifically requires Tesla service to solder up top and require the customer to connect within the b-pillar. Soldering is still present and required, just no longer by the customer.
I asked Tesla service if they could cover the cost for the replacement parts I broke while trying to follow the instructions for the B pillar and they said no.
Okay, so I did the same exact thing and was so upset with myself! Did they charge you to fix what happened? I received a quote for the door trigger piece that popped off and the broken plastic trim piece that snapped when I tried to pry it off :(
Incorrect. The soldering is still required and outlined in Service Manual procedure 61010006. Read up and research before you go in. R2 just shows you how to reconnect within the B pillar to activate.
So glad it worked out well for you. I will never use this service center again. Luckily, I have another within driving distance. Incredibly awful and hostile environment here from the service advisor.
Glad you had a seamless experience. I just had an absolutely awful experience having my lightbar installed on my Beast. They refused to follow the new R2 procedure where they now solder the harness, even with me holding and showing them the new service document. I just posted a new PSA thread...
I am sure this topic has been covered already here - the updated Tesla Service Document procedure for installing the OEM lightbar on the Beast (R2) - however, I want to provide a PSA for anyone waiting to have theirs installed.
The service center in Roswell-Alpharetta GA installed the lightbar...
I damaged the squishy plastic door material using a pry tool on the first one. They are really shoved in there. Eventually did the screwdriver approach and only mildly indented on the other doors.
I think it is a bit misleading to say installing is easy, unless the holes on my doors were just...
I was more worried about marring the āstainlessā steel. I think residue can come up with some alcohol on plastic surfaces without much issue, but we will see!
Came here searching for the exact sound you got on video! Itās been driving me nuts for about 3 weeks now. Less than 2500 miles. Did the tech say this is something we can easily fix or worth going in for a service appt?
Is anyone thinking of spreading some Christmas cheer with their CT? Aside from wrapping it temporarily like a gift or Santaās sleigh, I am thinking of plugging colored Christmas lights into the bed and somehow placing them around the roof line and turning them on at night from inside the cabin...
