I have the cyberbeast. Wish I got the AWD due to better driving dynamics, since Tesla engineers accidentally put the third motor in the front instead of the back. Also the cyberbeast motors have failed repeatedly for most consumers. This is explained in great detail in the out of spec videos on...
We did this exact same trip in my wife’s R1S this summer in August. We drove the entire way at the speed of traffic (75-83mph) - speed limit is 75mph, and we didn’t have to stop to charge at all. Went from 95+% SOC to around 8% SOC for 220 miles.
Wow didn’t realize it was 200Wh/mi additional to precondition. I did just update the OP with battery temps. I did do two supercharging stops also on the way down.
Speed limit is 75 so I was going 80, which is still slower than most traffic.
Our speed limit is 75. My tire psi was 51-52. Still getting 600Wh/mi. So
You’re right I did update my OP with my average speeds for each leg. It was a lot lower than 78 mph.
I don’t have a screenshot of the energy app but it did say I consumed 10% extra due to high speed (still doesn’t account for the 40% efficiency loss). I updated the OP with all the stats from Tessie including cabin temp, average speed etc, the speed limit on this highway is 75mph
It was around ~640wh/mi on the way up, ~575wh/mi on the way down.
The energy app said headwinds actually benefited my trip on the way down.
It also said that my speed is above 70 mph (at 78mph) contributed to almost 10% more battery loss, but that still doesn’t account for such a dramatic drop...
just to clarify here, do I plug back in while I’m waiting for 20 minutes in the truck?
Or do I wait 20 mins then plug it in?
also, that’s great news about BC getting V4’s! I didn’t see anything on supercharger. info about it.
Yep, Gaylord and Bay City. - weekend ski trip to Boyne from Metro Detroit. Both V2 chargers (frustrating at 150kw!)
So I did preheat beforehand but I don’t think it did actually, because as soon as we left our home it was “preconditioning” the battery the entire drive to Bay City (1.5 hrs)...
Edit: I’ve updated this post with summaries with screenshots of the details of each leg of this road trip below.

I just did our first family road trip this weekend - a 470 mile round trip to northern Michigan.

Hi , my Cyberbeast is only 2 weeks old and I just backed up into my fence. Embarrassed for sure.
What would this cost to repair? Before sending this to Tesla , wanted to see what roughly this would cost. Just needs to be bent back.
