Sadly it sounds like you got scammed. I've had MANY damage claims over the years, and the guests personal insurance paid. every. single. time. I never had to pay a deductible for any damages that were 100% guest caused.

Absolutely. I was lucky enough to have a very high percentage of trips that were smooth sailing, but when the car came back with weed smell, it a lot of the time also came back with damage. I'd be vetting who I rent the truck out to VERY heavily.
