PAWD is sufficient for most real world cases. I don’t race, but CB is helpful on particularly tricky unprotected left turns and when you need to get away from deranged drivers.
I’ll do better than that. If Elon lets me sign a contract that puts full liability on me in exchange for unsupervised FSD, I’ll gladly be the guinea pig.
I would trust FSD with my life at this point. It's not flawless, and it could benefit tremendously from a "teach" mode where you tell it how you would like to drive (mostly stay in right lane, left turn from a particular side, park in a certain orientation, more customized speed control) but...
The highway was great, but the most remarkable part of the trip was Manhattan. I don’t think I would have been successful with this wide a vehicle during rush, with out of control construction, no road lines, cars whipping in front, pedestrians walking aimlessly. It moved to the side, almost...
Just finished a trip this weekend from Dayton, OH to NYC. 1200 miles total round trip, 10 stops, 24 hrs driving, avg 500 WHr/mi. Normal drive time in ICE is 20 hrs, but used 2 hrs for charging and another 2 hrs for extra breaks. I had no idea what to expect after exiting the Lincoln tunnel...
In the video at the end, the camera pans to the driver seat, but then there's a cut right before you see the empty seat. Clearly someone is driving the truck. Sad, because it would be nice if ASS were imminent.
There’s definitely some staggering going on, late 2025-2026 seems to be activated immediately, mine is Dec 2024 and was activated after 1 week but still says “temporarily unavailable”. So FS and early 2024 gets activated last.
December 2024 CB, updated to 2026.2.9.1 on 3/9, ANS activated for the first time today. VIN 56046.
Message under option says “Tenporarily unavailable”

17,904 miles since Feb 2025, CB, car says lifetime average is 392.3 Wh/mi, but total lifetime charge is 11.1 MWhr, so that gives 620 Wh/mi if you include all the downtime, heating, insane driving, etc. In Ohio so the cold has taken its toll.
