All I know is, I was planning on keeping my CT at the end of my lease, but now I’m washing my hands of this thing immediately after, whether the PCS has failed once yet or not….
No, not yet. It’s very very good, and for the most part I trust it and on occasion go for a while not paying much attention, but it still occasionally does stupid, borderline dangerous stuff out of the blue. We’re almost there, but that last 5% to full autonomy is going to be tough.
I don’t deny there are a lot of warranty issues on new vehicles, I’ve experienced plenty on my former F-150 and on my wife’s Grand Cherokee. HOWEVER, these are not things where the whole car just takes a dump and leaves you stuck on the side of the road out of the blue or in a parking lot at...
While obviously this case is not lemon law eligible yet, it’s not normal to have new vehicles “break down” this day and age. I have bought/leased brand new vehicles every 2-3 years for the last 20+ years, and have not once, EVER, been stuck anywhere because one “broke down”. Ford, Jeep, Dodge...
That’s not happening within 8 years, I would bet anything. Even if the technology is there, which it is still not, the regulatory hurdles will be immense. My bet is 8 years from now won’t look that much different than today.
Wow, these are my recent thoughts exactly. Although a lifelong “car guy”, I just recently discovered the world of Tesla with the Cybertruck. I’ve always been an American V-8 muscle car guy, zero interest in EVs, until the CT. One drive in this amazing machine and I had to have one. The brutal...
Ok, we’ll see. Zoox and waymo and robotaxi are all geofenced in strict areas and predesignated routes. Feel free to screenshot this and prove me wrong as soon as we have cars sold to consumers able to drive anywhere without steering wheels or pedals. Despite the great advances we are seeing...
That’s not happening any time even remotely soon. For now, we need input. We can’t even look down at the screen to find music without it squawking for our attention, yet it won’t even let us choose our own speed? Stupid.
That’s all well and good, I had an F-150 prior to this, and it wasn’t “waterproof” but it was nothing like my Cybertruck. I’m talking INCHES of rain leaking in this thing. I don’t mind dampness, or a few drops around the sides. It pours into the Cybertruck vault. Unacceptable.
What an embarrassment. It’s pretty sad that a lot of service centers, including mine, say that “it’s not supposed to be waterproof” and that the leaks are “in spec”. Bullshit. Sloppy ass assembly is what it is.
If you had your toolbox up tucked all the way forward up against the front of the bed under the window, that’s literally where all the water pours in. Same thing happened to me. The only place that is even semi dry is right in the middle under the center of the tonneau cover.
Well, mine started making this noise as well, probably a month or so ago. 6.5k miles on the vehicle, 69k vin. Purchased last April. Damn is it annoying. When you’re coming to a stop and it goes away, you realize how loud it was. Sometimes after sitting at a light for a while, it won’t do it...
100% The speed limit issue is a MAJOR problem. There are areas where I can flat out just not use FSD anymore. One stretch that I drive almost daily has a 65mph speed limit. Out of the blue the truck thinks it goes to 35mph with no sign or anything. It starts slowing down and nothing will speed...
I had the same issue and I just had the tailgate replaced. Brand new tailgate from Austin, and the new one is loose too. 🤦🏻‍♂️ It doesn’t rattle, but the panel moves. They said it’s “in spec”. We’ll see. If it gets looser and starts rattling, I’ll take it back.
