Yes, the appliqué latch is retrofitted according to the service manual you linked. The gummy stuff seems to be a sealant.

When getting the tent installed by SC, they also retro fitted the tonneau appliqué with spring load locks, however when I try to remove it to set up the tent, the sealant between appliqué and glass roof just pull out like bubble gum. Anyone who has their tent installed faced with similar...
