Charging rate appears to be below 1C

I agree on the marketing tactics making things confusing for people (see this convo). But constant voltage (CV) at around 80%SoC has pretty much everything to do with longevity and fire risk. Faster charging EVs know this too, and they have very similar cells and pack designs (I would argue...

Charging rate appears to be below 1C

I think the misunderstanding is that when you hear 1C charging rate you're thinking 0-100% in 1 hour. However, c-rates are talked about in relation to the bulk phase of the charge. The current needs to taper down for longevity, hence why start rates differ but the remainder of the charge cycle...

Charging rate appears to be below 1C

Are you implying that the charger should be at 1C for the duration of the charge? Honestly just trying to understand what you're getting at. Also, just because you're at a V4 station doesn't mean you charge with a different curve. I live DC charging design every single day for a living.

Charging rate appears to be below 1C

Sounds like you're misunderstanding C-rates. Li batteries are designed to handle over 1C at low SoC that’s why they can pull 350–500 kW early on. But it's not sustainable to hold that output current rate as battery voltage increases. 1C sustained is aggressive for longevity, not a safe ceiling...

Charging rate appears to be below 1C

There's a reason why Tesla has the lowest battery warranty claims rate. If you're thinking a simple charge curve can possibly be classified as "outdated tech" that tells me where you're at haha. Its a charge curve lol.

oof you've watched a few too many Out of Spec videos lol

A more stressful charge curve does not make it better.

Charging rate appears to be below 1C

Bingo. The last thing i want for my CT is dendrite growth because i wanted to save 5-10 minutes at a supercharger. Competitors tout charging speeds as a benefit over Teslas without mentioning degradation. Charge curves are insanely easy to change, if there were good reasons to they would change...

Tailgated and Flipped Off on the Highway 🤣 Haters gonna hate

It is definitely not becoming rare. Maybe in AZ, CA, TX where people are used to seeing CTs all the time. But here in rural PA, I get the bird multiple times per day.

    Tonneau/Tailgate Release Buttons Not Functional

Thank you! I did used to have problems with the Driver Door Unlock feature, but I confirmed it is not related.

    Tonneau/Tailgate Release Buttons Not Functional

Hello! Last night we went camping in the rain and cybie sat out all night. When we got back home I found that the tailgate/tonneau bottons are not working, however I can control both via display screen. So far I’ve tried rebooting cybie, long pressing the buttons, and looking for errors in the...

    Jerky take off 14.3.2

I hate the drag race launch that it does from a red light, in standard mode, 25mph speed limit. So do my tires.

Going from Ford Lightning to Cybertruck? Thinking of trading up to the cheaper 60k CT from a Lightning, worth ~ extra 10k?

Waymo also openly admitted to using remote drivers in the Philippines for confusing situations haha give me a break.

Going from Ford Lightning to Cybertruck? Thinking of trading up to the cheaper 60k CT from a Lightning, worth ~ extra 10k?

Weird, my experience has not been even close to what you're saying. I have a HW3 MY and the CT, CT is much smoother and I'm at 98% FSD. I've had the CT for 4 months and I legitimately cannot recall a time where I've had to intervene, it even pulls over for emergency vehicles and stops for school...

Going from Ford Lightning to Cybertruck? Thinking of trading up to the cheaper 60k CT from a Lightning, worth ~ extra 10k?

Sure you're not talking about Tesla autopilot instead of FSD? lol It's wild when people bring up "driver assistance" during an FSD convo... not even close.

Going from Ford Lightning to Cybertruck? Thinking of trading up to the cheaper 60k CT from a Lightning, worth ~ extra 10k?

I paid $36K out of pocket. I owned the lightning outright and got 35K for it back in December and got a deal on a CT for ~$71K. AWD Foundation 28K miles. The 60K offering is a deal for sure depending on what you value (I personally value FSD included package and could probably justify $36K for...

Going from Ford Lightning to Cybertruck? Thinking of trading up to the cheaper 60k CT from a Lightning, worth ~ extra 10k?

I switched from a Ford Lightning to a CT 4 months ago. The two trucks are not even comparable. The main reasons I switched - 1. There's very little to no thermal management system in the Lightning, I had to charge a nearly frozen battery multiple times. 2. Ford discontinued the truck, and I...
