Like many, I watched one too many accessory videos before my CB arrived and ended up with one of these. I put a few things in there but quickly realized that I'll likely never use it and prefer the open space under the rear seats.
I keep seeing posts folks giving these away for free and it...
Anecdotally when I was shopping for a 26 I drove a 24 foundation and if I had not driven a 26 I likely would have skipped the ct all together. I suspect it was an early foundation and it was let’s just say very loose. Drove a 26 awd and it was night and day from wind noise reduction to rattle...
Thanks. Do you have to set color each time turn it on or does it save last setting use?
Do you find yourself using it daily?
Any idea if they use new Tesla part to build or do they use the returned? Asking since I have a new 26 cb and would prefer new part.
Had to order the part from Tesla - takes a week (they said) and it lines up with service appt so will hopefully be able to install the light bar end of next week.
I should have clarified - I'm installing the XKGLOW that looks to be easy. I was more concerned with taking off the roof cover - seating the grommit etc.
Looking at the install guide - do you have to disconnect the MV Power?
Super helpful as always!
Do you consider it a trival install? I was all set to flip the compartment open, pull out the wires and install the bar on a week old CB -- thinking if I should get the part and follow the procedure below or see if service will do it. What do you think?
Apparently it's a feautre (to remove it) from 26's and possibly late 25's. I thought I was good to go with the CB since 26 still has the roof applica (mounting points) whereas the AWS does not. Lightbar arrived and was all set to install until I was not. What I did not realize is in 26...
Only one week in with the 26 cb and heat from the top glass seems ok. I was expecting to need to cover. Will see as the season heats up.
Front glass, yes. Did a hundred mile round about over the weekend and that’s where the heat comes from.
Any validity to this. Service mentioned the reason star link is less effective at transmitting through the glass roof is in 26 it’s a new mfg process adding metal or something else. Claimed one half better heat deflection.
Language is important and the way I worded my statement was intentional. There are so many threads where folks are asking should they. My thesis is if you are asking and the extra $ is noise then the answer is of course for the driving experience alone. You don’t have to keep it in beast mode...
The key is , if you are asking you are likely looking for something more. My op - if you can swing the CB - the answer is always YES. Despite all the posts ..... I was not swayed, even though there were no CB availbe to test drive I drove several 2026 CTs and thought they were fine, not...
Yeah. My point is the oem for 99 percent of owners will be turned on one time when they get it and that’s likely it. For this the drl is the winning feature and I’d want it turned on for every drive. At least when you set it in the app it saves that setting.
Yep. But there is no drl. Having to turn the drl on and off each drive is a bit of a pita. Having said that I decided to buy it. Shipped today!! I probably would have ordered it weeks ago to get in time for cb pickup but thought all 2026 did not come with the application mounts. Glad beast...
