Been looking into lemon law buyback. Concerned with the part about needing multiple attempts to repair when tesla seems to be dodging it in my case by not even acknowledging it in their service visit, what would you do in that case to anyone familiar with lemon law?
Yeah that is definitely not ok. Super annoying whistle yours has along with the rattle/grind that kicks in at about 33mph. Really wish there was some sort of recall for this that would move this along more consistently with a resolution.
Really dont like when they leave out these important details. Almost seems intentional, mine wouldn’t document the fact there was a clear difference from a test drive on their own truck and mine.
Doesn’t seem like all locations are as willing to help so maybe try a different service center if thats an option. Heres a quick YouTube video i did on another awd model where it doesn’t make that noise, a clear difference.
Some folks have been kind enough to share their envoices where Tesla repaired it for them. May be worth a trip and showing it to a local service center.
What you do with your 24? Really hoping this other service center actually gets this taken care of for me. Waiting to hear back if they can get approval from some engineers or field techs? Cant remember exactly the title.
I mean had I noticed that sound before i purchased it personally its not something i would have moved forward with. Just from my experience with other ev’s including teslas ive owned, that noise is a deal breaker for me. Whether or not it proves to be a safety risk later on down the line is also...
Heres a video I took on a demo drive of a non foundation awd. Notice how the grinding isnt present. This is how quiet the test drive was when I went with a senior tech.
Heres the video I shared on here. I mean the senior tech himself told me it was a gear not properly latching in the motor and hes familiar with it. Just that from his experience a front drive unit replacement didnt fix the issue.
Whats wild to me is they would note the noise as being acceptable. Like who should determine what amount of noise is acceptable? The one that didn’t pay a dime for the vehicle? Or the one the one out $100k?
