  1. FSD discount for early reservation holders is ending…

Given that the standard FSD price of $8k is only $1k off the early reservation price, I'm not too bummed about this decision. I did officially cancel my reservation today, though. While I would love to own a cybertruck one day and can more than afford to buy one today, I cannot bring myself to...
  2. What if I don't want the foundation series?

This was the first thread that came up when I did an internet search on the matter, so just adding to it. Here we are half a year later and I just received an invite to order/mage a FS cybertruck. I'm not paying the FS premium, so won't do anything with the email and will just wait and see when...
  3. Prediction: A slew of CT cancellations on the horizon

I'm not requesting a refund now as I see no need to (no telling what the price will be when my order is actually up), but I am disappointed with this pricing list. At the current price (and based on my desired minimum requirements), I can't justify spending $80+ on a car. If my Renegade gives...
  4. Cybertruck NO RESALE Restriction (1 Year) Spotted in Purchase Agreement Language

I agree. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy a truck here. These are voluntary contract terms. If they are too abhorrent to you, then don't sign and buy another vehicle. One of the many things that I appreciate about Tesla is the standard car price. Yes, they'll go up and down based on...
  5. Canceling FSD

To be clear, yes the proper use of FSD as described by Tesla today is legal everywhere as Tesla tells you to keep your hands on the wheel at all times. But I'd wager that people are not spending this kind of money for the promise of having to keep their hands on the wheel at all times. No, it...
  6. Is the additional range from the single motor to the dual worth $10k?

But what $41k dual motor are you referring to? That's just what I'm not getting. My earlier point only questioned whether the single motor would come into fruition.
  7. EV Tax Incentive [closed due to political discussions]

True. Whether it would be unlawful fraud, that I'd have to read more up on. I imagine that the law would prohibit such a practice on Tesla's part, but I'm not 100% sure.
  8. EV Tax Incentive [closed due to political discussions]

Regardless of one's political preferences for such a plan, I'm not sure that such a proposal is set to pass Congress. Part of the problem here is that Dems will only control and absolute bare majority in the Senate, and only then because the VP breaks the tie. With at least one member of the...
  9. Anyone Believe the Cybertruck will do well on Turo?

I would definitely consider it, especially as I would probably be among the only cybertruck owners in Honolulu initially and, thus, could probably command a pretty penny. But I need to do some more research into how the insurance factor works as well as some other things. I won't lie, I'd also...
  10. FSD price increases and effects

The $7k I currently have it reserved for is probably the most that I'd pay, especially as FSD subscription service becomes available.
  11. Is the additional range from the single motor to the dual worth $10k?

No, but if you can get dual-motor at $41k, I'd wager that you can get single-motor at far less than $40k once all of the same credits (I'm assuming you got to the $41k for dual motor after EV credits are applied at the state level, etc.) are applied.
  12. I want to sell my CYBRTRK

I suspect that there will be people willing to pay a small premium (especially if you have FSD at the lower price point) in a situation like this, but I wouldn't make such expensive plans based on such a large uncertainty.
  13. Canceling FSD

And for those who think such is a worthwhile investment/use of their money, I say more power to them. I'm just not convinced that it is worth it for me to spend that extra money when I likely won't be able to utilize the full spectrum of FSD on the road anytime soon. Do you have something to...
  14. ELECTREK: Tesla loophole for direct sales in Michigan is getting shut with impressive political backstabbing

Curious, where would you draw the line? Money has always been an enhancer of speech. If only the mere act of speaking is to be protected, government would be free to shut down a whole lot of mechanisms that we use to get our points across and to petition our government, to include banning...
  15. Canceling FSD

While I could have, perhaps, been clearer, I thought it was clear enough that I was referring to the actual utilization of FSD (i.e. autonomous driving) as opposed to merely owning the technology. This is why I wrote "road legal" and not just "legal." Indeed, if FSD wasn't legal, Tesla...
  16. ELECTREK: Tesla loophole for direct sales in Michigan is getting shut with impressive political backstabbing

Regarding the bolded portion of Electrek article, Tesla getting the loophole to begin with (via lobbying, lawsuits and threats of lawsuits agaisnt the state) was the result of money in politics. I don't have a problem with money in politics and it is constitutionally protected as an enhancer of...
  17. Canceling FSD

OP, like you, I'm seriously considering not getting FSD. I'm just having a hard time with paying so much for a feature that likely won't be road legal nation-wide (and, even if it is road legal, I'm concerned with how it will react to reckless drivers in a time where the overwhelming majority...
  18. Is the additional range from the single motor to the dual worth $10k?

I'm curious to know if the single motor will actually ever get to production. Or if it'll go the way of the $35,000 base Model 3. Note, while range did factor into my decision to pre-order the dual vs single motor (though when I think about it, Tesla always seems to be increasing its range...
  19. Cybertruck vs Hummer EV

That's another thing. Will this truck have regular over the air updates like Teslas have? And I still remain skeptical of any Even outside of all of that, I always come back to fast charging infrastructure. Until there is a solid non-Tesla fast charging infrastructure around the country, I...
  20. FSD will get $2k price increase 10/29

Tesla also has to be careful to not make this feature one only for the well off. That said, with the planned $25,000 vehicle, FSD for $10,000 doesn't put such a car too much out of range for many.
