The attraction and success of the truck will not be the vanity of having one of a few. It has to catch on. I don’t see F150 drivers complaining about the ubiquitous nature of their vehicle on the road.
When your payment on a depreciating asset (the FS CT) is the same as your appreciating asset, it’s time for sober second thought, which is exactly what you are doing here. You’re headed in the right direction!
I think you answered your own question: “after finding out the interest rate, I’m finding it hard to make the monthly payment. Almost our mortgage payment”. You would be better off saving the $20K for the non-FS CT and buy yourself a used truck for work that you can sell once your VIN number is...
Wow. Taxes are crazy. In Manitoba we have 7% then the 5% fed. I can’t go cyberbeast but consider the FS dual motor. Just got my invitation yesterday. Now to decide… should I pull the trigger? What’s the premium on the FS anyway over the usual CT?
Thank you for your post. I think your experience is a cautionary tale that perhaps a new buyer of a $100K vehicle rents a Tesla or EV first and drives one for a couple of weeks before driving one owned off the lot.
I am in your category, closer to retirement and have never owned an EV or hybrid.
For the record, I am neither a hater of Tesla nor the CT; in fact, I am on the waiting list for the CT. But I do appreciate accuracy and the facts, as do all of you on this platform :)
A few questions and a comment.
1. How long does this last?
2. What does this cost?
3. What is the advantage of wrapping vs painting?
3. The chemistry of the stainless steel is no longer your advantage if a car door opens on the vehicle, hail storm etc.
I think you’re asking to be stopped by the po-po if you are driving around without mirrors, then defending the visibility for a few more minutes, head scratching by law enforcement… and now you’re 20 minutes late for where you planned to be.
This question may seem rudimentary, but are you allowed to drive a car without side mirrors in North America?
In Texas,
