Yeah, there should be a pretty easy ability to have either an injection molded or 3d printed low profile plug that snaps in from the top or.... for a more seamless and likely more robust plug, using something similar to the 3 bolt mirror base but with a flat piece of stainless that sits flush...
I don't recall if it was in a video or a tweet post-launch that confirmed the truck will self-level in camp mode to make sleeping either in the bed or the tent more comfortable.
I'd be legitimately shocked if they hadn't considered someone sleeping in the bed with the vault closed. Camping in the bed of a truck under a camper shell or tonneau cover is extremely common in my personal experience.
Posted and didn't get a chance to upload my picture before my post was deleted??
Gonna be super salty if that post number was the winner...
My current ride:
Makes sense after looking at that explanation as well as some early prototypes. Makes sense given the roof overhang would make the space almost unusable anyway for anything taller than the window.
F150 has 50" between the wheel wells. It'll be close to that. What has been hard for me is being able to tell with the angles in the bed what direction the front panel of the bed is sloping. From that ~3" apparently vertical section at the floor, does the front panel slope towards the...
That bottom icon is a side view looking at the right side of the cybertruck, you can see half of the wheel well, the rear of the bed shape and a lowered tailgate sticking out to the left.
Perhaps a 48V solar panel to match with the rest of the 48V architecture?
A panel that size would probably be around 300W which isn't much, but if you're getting ~3-4KW, per day, that would line up with that 10-15mi/day range estimate.
I agree, slight curve to the roof glass, same with the slight curve the front of the frunk seems to have. That said, what is more interesting to me from the recent drone footage of the cybertruck and this video of the cybertruck is that it either has a retractable solid sunshade inside or, more...
Purple line is definitely the tonneau track, the green line is a gear tie down track that is on trucks like the Tacoma. The tonneau would theoretically live in a container below the rear glass, when closed it would travel first straight up then make the turn to run back to cover the bed.
I've noticed in the interior photos that there are two mockups. The drivers seat in one is shorter than the passenger seat, different headrest design and has both a pillar mounted seatbelt and what appears to be a seat mounted seatbelt for the center seat that folds down into a console. The...
