I realize this is necessary to provision the gateway, but I bristle at the idea of handing out my password. Before my Powershare install, I will configure a Guest network with a temporary password, and reconfigure it later.
There's little competition for Powershare installs when it's so new...
Smart Charge America quoted me about $2900, not including the Universal Wall Connector (that's north of $2k itself due to the difficulty).
My installation is still a couple of months out, since we must wait until Austin Energy can appear on-site for the utility disconnect (I am replacing the...
I contacted several local installers before I even had a VIN, most said "wtf is a powershave" lol. I eventually connected with the team doing the early Powershare installs for Tesla employees, and they started doing legwork for me.
After my Cybertruck delivery, I got an email from a different...
There's a long thread on TMC about this subject. The TL;DR on the Mobile Connector is:
- it checks for ground, and
- really wants an inverter-generator (clean sinewave) power
Since it starts charging, I'll assume the setup passed the ground test. I'm guessing it found the quality of the...
"Range" in miles is an estimate. Did the pack still show 100%?
Did it get cold overnight? Ambient temperature will affect efficiency (and by extension, alter the estimated range).
I connected to a Chargepoint using the J1772 adapter yesterday at Whole Foods, it was a disaster lol. Two of the three stations were broken, and the 1 working station's screen was completely opaque from sun yellowing. I never got it to work.
Fun fact, you should remove the charge cable and...
Seems like your electrician believes your main panel cannot support another 60A load.
Of course, I doubt this works with a bi-directional setup like PowerShare.
I would speculate that Tesla is gathering significant diagnostic data from the early models, which is uploaded when parked and on wifi.
They'll also need a bunch of FSD training data, too.
Hooey.
I can buy a new car every Sunday, and it won't hurt "efficiency" one bit. But how can that be?
If old vehicles get tossed into a volcano, then sure, that's a major waste of resources. Fortunately, used cars are sold for someone else to use. A glut of used cars will drive down prices...
Literally everything "uses energy" to be created...?
The "most efficient" action would be to stop building new cars and make everyone walk, but that's not a realistic goal.
I selected the "renewables only" rate plan, based on actual cost of wind/solar, so my rates do not fluctuate with fossil-fuel prices. Sometimes it's higher but I'm OK with that.
How much to install the Wall Connector? Who cares, shut up and take my money :ROFLMAO:
I got a quote for about $8k including the 200A panel upgrade. The problem now is waiting for the utility to disconnect the power, which is scheduled for June. sigh
AFAIK the handful of V4 Superchargers are still limited to V3 rates. However, it's possible to exceed 250kW using third-party chargers:
"Eventually" we should have faster charging, but right now the Cybertruck's charge curve is similar to other Teslas.
