Cybertruck Range Prediction + Cell Calculation + More [Sources]

Well he said ā€œCurrent 4680sā€, sure in the future you can have any sort of thing in the 4680 package. Itā€™s sort of akin to ā€œAA Cell batteriesā€

This may be a big part of why no 500 mile at launch. Tesla is still making baby steps as a battery company.

Cybertruck Range Prediction + Cell Calculation + More [Sources]

Iā€™ve been hearing rumblings around this 100 kWh/ 350 mile pack size. If they can pull that off it would be a huge win. Given the current predictions for Q4 cell production, that would be around 10,000 trucks for the 4th quarter and quite a few more for the 1st quarter 2024. The 500 mile range...

Cybertruck Range Prediction + Cell Calculation + More [Sources]

On the earnings call Tesla mentioned the new 4680 ā€œCyberCellā€ will have 10% higher energy density. I need to listen to the whole thing, but they called it the CyberCell. Seems like a not so subtle hint.

Cybertruck V2V Bidirectional Charging Confirmed in new Tesla service center coloring books?

Oh.. I do think it needs fixed 110v plugs too. But you donā€™t need 15 outlets in use while in motion.

Cybertruck V2V Bidirectional Charging Confirmed in new Tesla service center coloring books?

Oddball thought. Instead of having a bank of outlets inside the bed, what if the Cybertruck comes with or has an optional dongle that comes out of the NACS port. Similar but much more capable than the one on the Hyundai.

Recommended home charger system for Cybertruck?!

I was not trying to twist anything you said. I see where you get that idea though. Wasnā€™t my intent. Edit: Eh. Retrospect. Sorry if the edit crosses another post.

Recommended home charger system for Cybertruck?!

Forgive me, maybe I missed a post where the top poster said they run a business with multiple trucks. Thought I was clear that I was talking about the general case not fleets or heavy users. He did say ā€œhome useā€ in the top post.

I havenā€™t said anything different from first post to last and youā€™ve thrown up silly objections all along the way and Iā€™m being an ass?

Recommended home charger system for Cybertruck?!

This is why I laid out exactly what circumstances the current chargers will work well for and said explicitly that some people who drive a lot might need more. Suggesting everyone needs to provision 100a service is silly when realistically only a small number of people will need that capacity...

Recommended home charger system for Cybertruck?!

I lived for a 18 months with just the mobile connector and 120v. We drive a pretty typical amount, roughly 20k miles per year. It was largely tolerable, but definitely frustrating on occasion. That connection got me a 5 MPH charge rate and it was livable. The Cybertruck charging off the 48 amps...

Cybertruck L2 Charging -> Tesla Gen 4 80amp Wall Connector

Iā€™m sure you *can*. It will probably be 2 miles per hour, but you can. Get a heavy duty extension cord, they make them with 10 gauge wire. Hard to fine but they are out there.

Cybertruck L2 Charging -> Tesla Gen 4 80amp Wall Connector

Most homes have 200 amp service. ā€˜ā€™Cybertruck doesnā€™t need 100 amp charging. I did _ok_ charging with just 120v for a long time. Cybertruck will be fine with 220v and 60 amps.

Recommended home charger system for Cybertruck?!

It doesnā€™t matter what the range of the EV is. What matters is how much power you consume on a nightly basis. The number of people who need 250 miles of range every single night is exceedingly small. The people who need that kind of charging know they need it and will buy it. Unless you are...

Recommended home charger system for Cybertruck?!

The existing charger will add about 25 miles per hour of charging to the Cybertruck. With 10 hours charging, thatā€™s 250 miles per day. Do you frequently drive more than 250 miles on back to back days coming home each time? (Or 100+ miles towing) Some people might need more than what the current...

Recommended home charger system for Cybertruck?!

Highly unlikely Tesla will release a faster charger for home use. There is little to no reason for it. 48 amps (actual) is plenty for overnight charging for all but the most extreme cases. A lot (maybe a majority?) of homes would struggle with adding an extra 100 amp service which further...
