I guess it's relevant to me based on my experience from charging my wife's 2018 Model 3 LR. Trying to apply my real world experience to unknowns for the CT on a learning curve. We are lucky we too can charge at home, 80% for daily use, 100% for trips. We have only used the Supercharger a handful...
Here's my logic in asking the question in the manner I did. The range of the CT I have placed a reservation for is 240 miles as I understand it. Round trip to Grandma's house in Los Angeles from San Diego is approximately 240 miles. (Annual tamale XMAS run!) There is a Tesla charging station...
I've read on this forum and elsewhere the charging time for the CT to 100% is rather lengthy. Beyond what I am used to on my wife's 2018 Model 3 Long Range.
Can anyone explain why that is?
My wife is the head of quality control testing in this household. If it can be bent, broken, dented, set on fire, or chipped she will do it! She once pulled the face off a sliding kitchen drawer! Not a Hot Flash, a Power Surge! Interestingly enough, the only thing she has dinged on her 2018...
100% would take apps. 14 hours? From what starting point? We usually do not let my wife's Model 3 LR get below 20%. It takes her Tesla about 4-5 to charge to 80% for daily use.
You think charging a CT in the same manner would equate to the apex. same charging times?
If not, why do you think?
Has anyone purchased and set up the Home Version of the Starling Satellite system? I see that both Home Depot and Costco are offering at $599 with a $120 a month fee for internet service. If you have, general impressions? Thinking of doing the same.
We have a 2018 Tesla Model 3. Tesla Solar panels at home, during the summer when the output of the panels are optimum, we have been charging during the day. We consider ourselves lucky!
Recently I saw several Tesla's using the new Tesla charging station at Santa Ysabel, Ca. using the
stalls as their personal parking spots not hooked up for charging. What's to keep other EV owners from doing the same and clogging up availability?
The Tesla online site is not, in my aged opinion, that easy to navigate to gain information. BUT I would give it a shot to see if there is a list of Certified Installers for your area that might be willing to come out and take a look at your electrical needs. I was lucky enough to have access to...
I believe Tesla has a list of recommended Electricians for your area. When I added the Tesla wall charger in my garage my electrician upgraded my aux panel. My main panel had been upgraded prior to that when I had my Tesla (Solar City) panels installed.
What are the chances Elon will cut we cheep skates who opted for the least expensive battery option an upgrade from 240 miles to 280 or 300 at time of production?
My wife's 2018 Model 3 came with the "Long Range" battery at time of purchase set at 310 I believe, since then the battery has been...
