Don't worry about lower ranges your first few charging cycles! Estimated range will increase

This is why, IMO, it only makes sense to dispense with the range number and only show the battery percentage. No matter which range number you choose to display, it will be wrong.

Don't worry about lower ranges your first few charging cycles! Estimated range will increase

The range is available on the screen based upon the last 5, 15 (I think) or 30 miles, your choice. The battery icon range is always rated range. Go into the detailed battery usage data and charts if you want other estimates. Tesla isn't hiding this information, just presenting the driver with...

Range Extender Battery Pack increases range to 470+ miles and costs $16K 🔋

I agree. It would be fine for moving RVs around in a park in a pinch, but I'd never want to use one as my regular method of towing. Just get a bumper-pull RV and be done with it.

Range Extender Battery Pack increases range to 470+ miles and costs $16K 🔋

The numbers in the chart show that the Rivian quad motor with the standard pack is less efficient than the quad motor with the large pack. As far as I know, the only difference between the two is the size of the battery pack. I don’t see any way that physics allows a heavier vehicle of the same...

Range Extender Battery Pack increases range to 470+ miles and costs $16K 🔋

The calculation is correct, so either the battery capacity or the range has to be wrong. I don't see any other explanation for additional weight causing increased efficiency.

Range Extender Battery Pack increases range to 470+ miles and costs $16K 🔋

All the ones I've seen and used are easily removable with 4 pins in the bed. They're heavy (130+ lbs), but doable.

Range Extender Battery Pack increases range to 470+ miles and costs $16K 🔋

5th wheel hitches are made to be removable, but I doubt the range extender will be.

Range Extender Battery Pack increases range to 470+ miles and costs $16K 🔋

I suspect that the battery-in-the-bed range extender makes it DOA for most due to losing so much of the bed function.

Baja Destination Chargers Rated at 18kW

In looking at Tesla's map of destination chargers, I see many 2-station locations sporting "up to 18kW" designations. I presume that many of these sites were outfit with destination chargers specifically for Cybertruck testing. To my thinking, this indicates the Cybertruck's onboard charger will...

    4680 charging issues???

I expect the 4680 cells will allow faster charging due to less heat being generated during the charging process. I know my S ramps down really quickly once the cooling fans start to scream. The lower internal resistance of the 4680 cells could help.

Solar Panel planning for the Cybertruck

As a general estimate, you can figure 1 kW worth of panels will generate 4.57 kWh of power per day (averaged over an entire year). So you need 240 W of solar panels for every 1,000 miles you drive per year. I drive about 35,000 miles per year, so I would need 8.4 kW worth of solar panels to...

Cybertruck L2 Charging -> Tesla Gen 4 80amp Wall Connector

We got lucky when we had our solar panels installed. I asked about upgrading from 200A service to 400A, and was able to make the upgrade for only the cost of a new panel and supply side wiring. I believe it was around $1800 total.

Cybertruck L2 Charging -> Tesla Gen 4 80amp Wall Connector

We have a pair of Gen II HPWCs on a 100A circuit. It's handy to be able to charge at a full 72A at times. It shouldn't really be necessary in most cases, but there have been times I've forgotten to top up before a trip and was glad I could quickly add an additional 20% to my battery in the last...

    48v Battery for Cybertruck!

I really hope there isn't a 48V battery. There's already a huge traction battery and voltage regulators can easily drop the voltage to 48V. What purpose would a separate battery serve?

    48v Battery for Cybertruck!

I don't know about the steering location, but it could be for a driver display and a HUD on the dash. Or I could just be wishing. :D In the rear though, we could be looking at a brake controller and a 48V-to-12V converter for trailering purposes.
